Concern with Elevated Cholesterol/Triglycerides

I have been feeling amazing on TRT. Strength, Sex drive, mood, motivation, body comp, attitude has all changed for the positive. In Sept i had my 13-14 week blood work done and expressed some concerns. I had always had perfect numbers with cholesterol and triglycerides. At my screening a year ago the nurse asked me if i was a vegetarian my numbers were that good.

These were my results in Sept
This is from Lab Corp.

Hemocrit 49 Range 37.5- 51
Hemogoblin 16
Total T day of next shot ( did not take shot) 1127 range 261-916
Free T 30 range 8.7- 25.1
Estradiol sensitive 31 Range 8-35
PSA .5
SHBG 62

Cholesterol 207 Range 100-199
HDL 60 Range greater than 39
LDL 127 Range 0-99
ALT 50 Range 0-44
AST 43 Range 0-40

Today for work I had to do a bio metric screening. They do a pin prick test and run your blood through some machine. I had not eating anything for about 12 hours.

My Cholesterol is now 257
Triglycerides were 177 they were at 90 in September.
My Blood pressure was high… but honestly it always is when i am in a medical setting.
Glucose was perfect.

Could this just be bad timing with my blood work? My blood test in Sept was after a week of vacation, drinking, fatty foods, and a week off from the gym.

This test today was after the thanksgiving holiday.

Nothing has changed in my diet ?? I am eating very healthy,… I have cut out a good amount of cardio because on TRT i am able to stay insanely lean without killing myself on a treadmill.

Should I be concerned ?

Your liver is responsible for the elevation in cholesterol, if the liver is not functioning optimally, it can’t metabolize all of the saturated fat from the diet and the cholesterol that the body produces. Your SHBG is already high, this is a sign the liver is not functioning optimally which lead to your low testosterone diagnosis.

This question was asked because a vegetarian based diet high in protein will see increase in SHBG thus lowering FT levels.

Thanks System, The nurse at the time did not have access to my SHBG. This was at the bio metric screening which only measured my Cholesterol, Glucose and Triglycerides. It was not until i had my preliminary blood work for defy that the high SHBG was seen but all my other numbers were perfect.

If you have been sick close to these new tests, this might explain the liver enzymes being elevated, I got elevated liver enzymes do to sensitivities to vitamin C.

If my total t was 1150 on the day of my next shot is there a chance that my levels are too high on the non trough days ? Would lowering the dosage slightly help ?

Don’t put much faith in pin prick test numbers. They are not particularly accurate.

This!! I’m a type 1 diabetic and have seen big differences between the pin prick tests for HA1C at the doctors office versus testing a big ol vial of blood in a lab.
