This game kicks ass. The multiplayer is like some world wide game of tag…only with way better scenery.

agh! so tempted to buy it. btw how much do games cost in the states?
this’ll be £40-45 in most shops ($71) - can’t decide whether its worth it!
any more detail/experiences on the multiplayer? sorry for the million questions, but is the campaign as good as AC2?
Anybody doing the campaign? I have not arrived to the point yet I can recruit people, anybody there yet? So far have loved the campaing mode and you could really spend a month exploring everything, which I how I play games like this anyway.

Yeah I haven’t even tried multi yet. The campaign is pretty sweet, as is recruiting and training the other assasssins. The main way to level them is to send them on assassination missions in other cities, so you can’t use them for a set amount of time, but when they come back you get money and they get experience.
The number of recruits you can have is limited by the number of borgia towers still standing, luckily I took down as many as I could early on.
I have 9 recruits. 3 level 9, 3 level 8, 2 level 7, 1 level 6. Max level I think is 10.
Once you have a certain number you can have them do an arrow storm like in the trailer where they just kill every guard in sight. Pretty awesome.

I played about an hour of the campaign and then about 30min on multiplayer last night before hitting the gym. I think riding horses in the city is bad ass and really opened this game up. The graphics have improved and the story line is way more intense. if they don’t make a movie pout of this, I will be greatly surprised. It is just begging for it.
Multiplayer is fast paced in that you don’t know where the strike is coming from. ANY of the people you see walking around could be out to kill you meaning you have to watch odd movements or actions that don’t seem to be guided by computer AI.
Either way, any guys who have a ps3 and want to play this weekend, pm me your PS log in name and we can see who is the better killer.

I have not reached the point yet where I can recruit, one of the guys who work for me has the book. It states at some point (cant remember the mission) you get the recruit Icon in the top left corner. But I knew about this and when you havent reached it yet you start to worry that you are missing something. So that is why I am asking. Thanks again.

I agree about the movie, lord knows there will then be a thread on who should be the lead character. Which could be hard with being Italian.
I agree about the graphics, story line and riding horse through town. I also love the tunnel concept which allows you to fast travel quicker. I love running around finding things, but hated have to run forever in last game or run over roof tops to get somewhere across the map.
So Blaze the more towers I take down the more recruits I can get? Did I read that correct? That was what I was working on last night taking those out. So far I have taken down 5 or 6.

Yeah there’s 12? I think total. Your access to a few will be limited by how far along in your campaign you are. I can’t access 3 of them yet. Every tower you destroy lets you get a new recruit.
Also, you recruit your first two recruits in a mission, so you’ll know when it happens, you won’t miss it.

Thanks, I was getting a little worried last night. This game is really immense you could spend a lot of time upgrading and doing accomplishments. Just reading the board at the thieves guild on all you have to do, that would take some time.
I love how it captures the intensity of being discovered and running away from guards, running into people or going down dead end alley ways. What do you do? I head for water and swim away.

Ray gun? That’s what I used to do when there were too many zombies.
Sorry - wrong thread.

These are the types of games I love…plus the replay value on something like this is pretty damn high which says a lot. As much as I liked Arkham asylum, I really only played it one time. I have played and beaten AC2 at least 4 times and was starting another play through after my last PS3 died.
Even God of War (the last one) was too fast paced to really just sit and enjoy. For me, it has to be free roaming for me to fall in love with it.

When I’m discovered by guards… I used to run to a roof then kill them as they came up. Now I just kill them all. Sometimes I call in my assassin recruits to completely dominate them or if there’s a lot of special weapon enemies(with spear, hammers, or axes).
If you kill them all, you can usually use medicine then loot more off of the bodies of the guards. It seems every other guard or 1 out of 3 has medicine, which is a lot better than the ratio of how often you have to use it.

When I can get recruits I can see your point. I am still getting my feet wet and learning the little things with this game. I dont want to hurry through either. So if you light a tower where now the section is no longer under control and you kill all the guards do they respawn? You cant clear out an area where there will no longer be guards?

I was like this with Fallout 3 beat it 3 times. The new one Vegas I have put about 50 hours in easy and havent even done many of the main missions. Not even gone into Vegas yet. This game will be the same way. Right now I have Vegas, Black ops and AC 3. Vegas and AC 3 I will play for the next few months, just play black ops as a change of pace. I am like you with Arkham, loved the game play, graphics but only played it once through. I wonder if the next one they will be more like AC 3?

GoW got me in the scene where you run across the horse chains and just look out on everything. they captured so much detail. or when that guy got decapitated by the minotaur ax. can we just have more cutscene movies? i mean, id practically watch AC if it were choreographed, same with starcraft or metal gear. fuck people, i want action and awesome footage of it

I’ve never tried to clear out all of the guards. I think the game would be boring with no guards in areas. Once you kill the guard captain and burn the tower, there will be a decreased presence of guards, you can rennovate buildings in the area, and you can get another recruit. It’s really not that hard to fight a large number of guards.
Counter is still your friend in the combat, through it’s not as prevalent. Just block attacks as they come in and counter if you can. Something I like to do is suddenly switch targets of my attack. You can often catch enemies “off guard” where you’ll go into an instant execution move, which can be pretty cool. It’s a lot easier to fight with the hidden blades on this version of the game. Any time i’m fighting less than ten guards I usually won’t even draw as sword or dagger.

I have cleared out about 5 towers, but just not stood and fought the guards. I have also been spending money like a mad man renovating the towns. I agree about clearing out the guards would end up making it boring, that is why I asked. The counter is my biggest weapon so far, when you get attacked by the wolf men I learned very quick.

Yeah I’ve been spending a lot of money on the rennovations as well. I’d recommend avoiding buying landmarks for now. I bought one just to see how much of a profit it would get me…Cost: 28,000 Profit:60 per 20 mins. I was annoyed. You get the best profits out of blacksmith and banks. I think i’m making around 9,000 every 20 minutes at this point in time.
I’ve done two more of the wolf men shrines, so i’m at 3/6. I want that special armor! lol. What I like to do is send all of my recruits off on long missions then try to clear a Romulus tomb. That way, I get the tomb done and then go straight to a pigeon coop to collect the money/send them out again.
I have too much to do tonight and tomorrow night is my birthday party, so unfortunately I won’t be playing much over the next two days, so you guys will probably catch/maybe pass me.

I am at 5000 every 20, the land marks didnt even cross my mind to pick them up. Not functional in my opinion.
Dont know if I will pass you, with the slow ass way I do these games I try to enjoy it, cause we will not have another game until March at least.
