Asking GF to Lose Weight

I am sorry, but I think you are delusional. At that height and weight, she’s perfect, enough meat to take a pounding, then not bitch about being sore, while she’s cooking you breakfast.

I thought you had a real issue, like, she sits on your face and you can’t hear the radio. Or worse yet, her fupa has rubbed a callous on your forehead from goung down on here.
[/quote]

You could be right, or it might be the start of a trend. Many hot young women have gone the way of the brontosaurus 15 lbs at a time.

Bingo, 15lbs a year and you’ve on your way to a second career as a whaler.

Oh my goodness, I am only 5’0 and I have to diet very strictly + cardio + workout very hard in order to just stay around 120-122!!

Thanks for the perspective, although you probably carry more lean mass on you

I was thinking the same thing.

Relationship 101 is being able to openly discuss and resolve any issues.

The OP can be subtle, blunt, or anywhere in between. 135 may not necessarily be a deal breaker, especially at 5’6" (he did say her ideal weight is around 120). He didn’t mention her working out so we know the weight gain is almost all fat. And how do we know next year it won’t go from 135 to 150…?

He needs to confront this minor problem before it becomes a major one.

I’ve dumped women in the past who let themselves go. We weren’t married and didn’t have any kids, so there was no legal or moral obligation to stick around if one of us felt the compatibility was no longer there.

This is the exact position the OP is in. And from his recent post, it sounds like he did his best to tactfully bring it up. If it doesn’t work out though, he and anyone in his place should start working on an exit plan.

Always, always, always have an exit plan. If you’re lucky enough to find Miss Fucking Perfection, you can let it gather dust in the basement. But always have one.

I agree about being openly able to discuss any issues - except when your mrs is getting fat! There’s just no way to broach the subject.

I still think just encouraging her to come to the gym and/or cooking healthy meals together is a much more tactful way to go.

Buuuut it doesn’t even sound like his mrs is getting fat in the first place. My girl is 5’ 1", 115lbs but by the OP’s standard he probably thinks she’s a little chunky

 Everyone has their preferences.

I appreciated your comment, and nighthawk, Polo, and the other people who mentioned petite women who may weigh more than the very general standard of 5’ is 100 pounds, and then add 5 pounds for every inch of height. That doesn’t work for everyone. Bone structure matters. Muscle matters. Fat distribution matters.

Some women are really fortunate to put all their fat in really pretty places. Derek’s wife has a sort of Salma Hayek thing going, and she’s petite and really pretty. Other women can be really fine boned, with not much muscle, and they happen to put their fat all around their waist.

As for the earlier comment about how Spock is “probably” carrying more lean mass. There is no “probably” about it. If you lined her up with 100 other random 5’ tall women, she’d most likely have the most muscle - by far.

Think about it this way. A guy who weighs 180 lbs might be a greek god, or he might be a skinny dude with a huge beer belly, or hips that are wider than his shoulders.

I know I’m not (and I assume nighthawkz is not either) familiar with her build. But my mindset was since she is a regular poster here, it is likely that she has at least some muscle on her frame, potentially a lot. You’re obviously more familiar with her build than we are, however our point was the same one you’re making.

If she is the same height as OP’s girl, but weighs more [than her goal weight, as set forth by the OP who could easily not be qualified to make such a guess], I was assuming it was because she has more muscle and in my mind that’s a good thing.

We can tell YOU have more muscle than an average woman, due to your avatar, but Spock has Bowser up (one of my favorite characters in my all-time favorite game, by the way, so her avi gets a thumbs up from me).

You are basically confirming the point hawkz made if I’m reading correctly. I am well aware of how BMI, fat percentage, weight, body composition, etc works. But thank you for elaborating, I’m a big fan of appropriate analogies.

Spock posted a pic not too long ago (I forget where). She’s carrying a decent amount of muscle mass

Agreeing with you guys. And just saying that height and weight don’t tell us a lot about how someone looks, especially in people who are in their “ideal” weight range. There’s a website called My Body Gallery where women can type in their height and weight, and see pics of women in that range. It’s pretty amazing to see all the variation.

Spock has kept a log here with progress pictures, and she put up a picture of her back in the August 2015 check-in thread. She carries more muscle than me, for sure.

Spock looks like a flipping super hero, although she’d be the last person to agree.

AWwwwwwwwww yous guys!!!

<3

Okay, did not read the whole thread, just original post. If she is like any girl, she will complain every time something cute in her closet doesn’t fit anymore, “oh no, I’ve gotten too fat to wear !" Or " doesn’t fit anymore, shit!” At THAT moment tell her, “well if you’re unhappy about it, do something about it.” And if she says working out never works for her, or dieting is too tough, or (insert complaint here), ask her “what do you want to look like? Find a picture of the body you would like to have and I’ll tell you how to get there.”

If she brings you a picture of a supermodel, tell her she needs to eat ONLY cocaine and cigarettes, because that’s what models eat: nothing. No cardio, no food. Then ask her if she wants to look like that, again, or if she wants to have a fit, sexy body which will enable her to eat chocolate here and there. Of course she wants the latter, so segue to the fit sexy body ideas below…

If she brings you a picture of a fit woman, great! Tell her she needs to eat lean/low-carb lift weights and do cardio, because only that combination will get her the results she wants in the fastest timespan. Then offer your help to get her there, you probably know more than you think, and if you don’t, there are tons of articles here to help. If you don’t know how to help her with form, post videos here.

If she brings a picture of a fat chick, gtfo if you don’t like fatties.

I’m curious is any of you have had the shoe on the other foot?
“Honey, you’re starting to look like a garden gnome, and while other people probably find them super sexy…”

Or maybe “Hey, I saw a movie the other day and the leading actor reminded me of you!” He’s thinking… The new James Bond movie is out, maybe X-men…

And his GF says, “Mall Cop!”

I might have to check out that website, sounds cool.

I took a moment to peruse the thread you mentioned that CC started. First few thoughts, Bauber’s an animal. Many other impressive pics and vids, as well. Push, those zerchers are no joke…

Spock is indeed carrying some good muscle on her. You are, as well. I give you both 2 thumbs up.

Also, to address your latest question, I’ve never had the shoe on the other foot, but I’d imagine dudes would take it much better (I know it wouldn’t bother me that much, and yes, I’d already be well aware of it). They may not be willing to do anything about it, but it wouldn’t be treated as some sort of carnal sin like it is for women.

BWAHAHAHA.
I once had a girl tell me she’d never been with a guy as heavy as me before. I was 160 soaking wet.

Thank you, TDub. About preferences and attractiveness, not all men like women with more muscle, or… insert any other physical attribute here. Of course, fat can become a health concern, so it’s a little different than “I like chicks with…”

I think you are right about most men being less sensitive or concerned about their body not being attractive. At least that’s my experience. Maybe men would be more self-conscious about looking skinny, since the expectation is that men are going to be bigger and stronger than their female counterpart.

Also, women tend to be less visual in terms of what is attractive. Personally, I think the guy in Mall Cop is curvy.

This is fine…on paper. But if the weight gain is the result of a deeper cause, then she’ll eventually find excuses to skip gym day or possibly express resentment for being obligated to go. And she can also sneak in junk food when the bf is not around.
