As Close As I Can Get to a 6 Pack

On another note…

I thought I looked good after I dropped down to around 145lbs @ 5’6".

Currently, 155lbs and eating a lot of food.

Sure, can’t see my abs any more but after seeing the weird-arse side short I too afraid to start cutting EVER.

You are tiny in all these pics. I have many friends of mine who model and they are bigger then you so don’t say its a pleasing build, it isnt the faster you accept this the better and the faster you will get that body and abbs.

But honestly post a up to date pic, then I will make my judgment.

I threw up a little in my mouth from that side ways photo he posted. Dear god man.

I’m actually curious as to what you were trying to achieve by posting pictures of people who look better than you do.

You put your ab pictures on a body building website. What did you expect.

People are mainly impressed by a big backs, legs, arms, and necks on this website. Last thing everyone will care about are abs on a skinny boy.

This was at the end of my cutting cycle this summer 142lbs i think
but i still manage to maintain a bit of mass.

I’ll post some pics soon of my bulking process, defenetly no more 6-pac, but plenty of mass
Im sorry, but that shot makes you look like a toothpick.

That’s the look I’m going for, does he use steroids, yes, is it a look most girls would find attractive, no, but then again isn’t it personality>looks. I hope you keep bulking 'till 200, because I’m 195lbs at 5’7 and you won’t be satisfied till you’re 210.
Not to threat jack, but doesn’t that guy go on year long cycles or am I thinking of someone else?

I usually don’t read the “rate my physique” threads, but the title paired with the low rating got me interested enough to open it up.

Quite frankly I’m really not surprised that the kid came in here thinking he was the shit, nor shocked about the not so heart felt responses. His eventual fleeing was just a matter of time.

In his eyes he’s a ripped dude. In T-Nation’s eyes he’s a punk ass Hollister bitch who needs to eat a million calories a day and lift some “heavy ass weight”.

I don’t blame the kid for believing he’s God’s gift to women. He’s young (read stupid), and for the most part outside of T-Nation he DOES represent what the public thinks is “healthy” and “buff”.

At the same time I doubt T-Nation will ever grow into what it could become if members continue to thrash the hell out of newbies. Sure, the kid doesn’t measure up to the internet warrior’s “T-Man” status, but at least he’s here. Or was here.

Maybe this is what TC was talking about recently concerning male competition vs. female nurturing in his “The Gathering” article. SCREW this kid, right? He’s young, small, and delusional. PERFECT. He won’t ever be like “me”. On the other side of things if this was posted in the MWA forum by a woman, I bet the women would be drooling at the mouth too, except instead of looking for a kill they’d be like that slippery car salesmen. Hey, this kid has an interest in lifting, I bet if if we show him a few articles and give him some friendly, good advice he’ll be hooked like Rick James on crack! He could be one of us!

Just a though.

He posted in the rate my physique section. WTF do you expect? He hasn’t posted anywhere else asking for help. He obviously hasn’t read this site at all. Hell it could be a troll for all we know. I know this site well enough that i won’t be posting a rate my physique thread until i am well over 200 lbs and under 10%. Until then i keep reading and moving toward that goal.

The response would have been much different if he would have posted in the beginner section and said “hey, new here… i am pretty small just looking to get bigger. I am currently trying to gain weight but this was me at my smallest. Here is my diet and routine. Do you see anything i can improve on?”

wow, i saw the first pic and i was like “good stuff, good base” then the second pic I was like whoaaaa son!

please eat a hamburger, thats not a 6 pack, thats a bitch pack

Your abs look decent, but you lack “everything” in upper-body mass. Bulk your shit up and forget about the abs for a while. They will always be there.

First of all,i’ve been weight lifting for performance ressons for more than 20 years but as you can see, i’m barely new to serious weight lifting, right now i’m 31 and i’ve been lifting seriously for about 2 years now. But i’ve been in martial arts since i’m a kid and for the last 7 years i’ve practicing muay thay kickboxing wich demand a lots of energy.

For the past 10 years i’ve been eating my 6 meals a day + snacks and i hardly gain any muscle mass (1-2 lbs per years). At 142, my goal was to be under 145 lbs to be in the feather weight division, wich work great! I kick some serious ass in that division. I tought i was a hard gainer till i take a break from muay thai.

I whent from 142 to 174 in 7 months, wich is a geat achivement for me, no mater what you say i’m proud.Sice i was young, idream’t about having 6pack abs and i really saw them at age 30 and was surprise to see how symetrical they are… I’ll post some recent pics next week(no cam now).

And for the “steroid abuse look”,i said that the MAJORITY of you love that look.Thats it
Its not a insult.

And for all you haters, you only make me stronger.

emjay777 you look good for a cross-country runner or swimmer who lifts weights on the side. I think your 2.2 rating is unfair but realize that you’re still a skinny bastard. If you’re fine with that then great.

Just don’t act smug like you’ve got the ideal Brad Pitt/Bruce Lee/Michael Phelps skinny-muscle-boy physique. I can totally understand why someone would be satisfied with your current physique but I can’t really understand why such a person would be a member of a hardcore weight lifting forum.

As i’ve mention, i took a break from muay thai to concentrated on harcore lifting and got amazing result. So now i’m hook to harcore weight lifting

What does your lifting look like? Weekly split, exercises, weights used, etc?

u’re 31?

what is ur native language?

My native language is french, i know i still got to work on my english, sorry about that.

Right now i’m on a 3 day split wich look a bit like this:

1-day Chest-tri’s
-Incline dumbell
-Flat dumbell
-Db fly
-tricep pulldown with Bar and rope
-tricep kickback

2-day Legs abs
-back sqat
-leg press
-machine standing calf raise
-hanging leg raise
-cable crunch

3-day shoulder back bi’s
-Reverse fly
-lateral raise
-handstand push-up
-db press
-wide and close grip pull-up
-variety of curl

I always modifing my workout (weight-sets-reps-exercise) to confuse my muscle and got no plateau so far.

That program is weak. The reason you’re not hitting a plateau is because you’re a beginner. If your going to lift 3 days/wk, you should consider a full body program that revolves around compound lifts; squat variations, deads, bench, chins, dips, rows and overhead presses. Use the search function and do some research. Good luck with your training.

I agree. A better program would be a Bill Starr’s 5x5 beginner program or Rippetoe’s Starting Strength.

Rippetoe’s

Starr’s

Then you’ve wasted a lot of time in the gym…

As well as time in the kitchen…

Yeah, 1+ lbs avg a week isn’t bad. How much did your BF increase?

Hmm, when I was young I dreamt about Ms. June, Ms. July, Ms. August, …

Except for Greg Valentino, you picked the absolute worst you could find. I’ll hazard a guess that few BB love the look of the pics you put up.
