Says the guy who is insanely strong by most normal measures ![]()
Itās what Iām getting at. Youāll know when youāre strong.
And lifts just muddle things, because then dudes just specialize in stuff so that they can hit super specific numbers on super specific lifts and then itās ALL they can do. āA 400lb bench is strong: internet says so!ā so they spend all their time making their arch as ridiculous as possible and widening their grip as far as they can and bench a 1" ROM and go āWoo! Now Iām FINALLY strongā
Strong is being able to approach any lift with any object and completely muscle f**king it. Paul Anderson doesnāt have the biggest lifts in the world, but he was strong as hell, because he could SLOWLY clean 435lbs.
This is a new oneā¦kinda like the sound of it.
Well thatās all fine. But maybe I was only talking about your strong convictions. Your opinions. Perhaps even your pungent BO.
I see your point, and to a large extent agree with you. My whole schtick is about trying to be a little bit good at just about everything (and thus, rarely or never becoming great at anything) and therefore being balance. I still find it an interesting coversation nonetheless. I see a lot of those kinds of guys you are talking about. Really good at benching, or whatever, but somehow can barely do any dips, and couldnāt pull their asses up to or over a bar if their lives depended on it. I donāt consider that strong.
I forget who I stole it from, but itās perfect.
So then I know⦠Iām weak ![]()
