Arnold Obsession
Petedacook wrote:
So, I encountered another scenario this evening that pretty much convinced me to just say: “Arnold says…XXX” instead of saying anyone else.

This evening in the gym my wife asks me if we are doing abs again. I introduced an additional day of abs to her this week, and she thought we would do them again. I told her no. She asked why and I went on to explain.

I was interested to see what her response would be if I quoted another accomplished bodybuilder. So I told her that many body builders say one of the most common mistakes is training abs everyday. I said Lee haney says one of the most common mistake made is training abs everyday.

She looks at me, frowns and says, well Britney Spears does 500 crunches everyday and she is well known for that. Inside I was outraged. My wife has seen pictures of Gina Alliotti, and other T-girls abs I have shown her on this site.

I sucked it up and said yea, but look at Britney’s abs. She said yea, now, but they used to look nice. I personally think Britney’s abs looked about like a young girls abs should look, I dont ever recall being impressed with muscle seperation on Britney Spears.

So, I told my wife I would show her “real” abs when we got home. Then I reminded her, you have seen those abs on T-Nation, you know they blow Britney’s away. She shrugged and said, yea, but Britney says to do 500 crunches a day.

At this point the conversation/argument was out of control and I was getting pissed off. I ask her if she even knows who Lee Haney is. She says no. I tell her he is a 8 time Mr. Olympia winner. I go on to say you take the advice of Britney spears for training Abs over an 8 time Mr. Olympia winner.

I am truncating the conversation, but come on man, how can you argue Britney Spear’s, little Ms. Whote trash wannabe pop star, ab workout recommendation to that of Lee Haney? JESUS!

I will say I elaborated and explained that resistance training must progress and 500 crunches no more no less fails that test, and that we dnt work any muscle everday and know it is not reasonable.

Next time, I am just going to save the trouble and say Arnold says it. I think I could have avoided the entire ugly scenario if I had just said Arnold says abs not everyday.

Man, I am still in disbelief…Britney Spears.
This kind of disgusts me. I mean, I get what you are going after. Telling someone “arnold says squats is good!” is generally offered with good intentions. But maybe arnold doesn’t agree with your position on ab training frequency. Thats like…reverse plagiarism, or something.

Slander?

I for one, don’t want people dishing out false quotes of mine. Reminds me of those political commercials. “I am barack Obama, and I approve of this message.”

Now now Professor, let’s be a little more specific. I pointed this thread out as an example of you being an “assumption jumping jackass who sees himself as “king of T-Nation.””:

I have to admit, if you scroll back in that thread, it seems other people are drawing similar conclusions.

One other person who doesn’t even post regularly. I am sure you have much in common. Let’s recap… about some thread that you have obsessed over for 2 years now…enough so that you are literally still upset by it.

 1. You wrote that I never compliment anyone.

That was pretty much proven to be false by the many threads I linked where I WAS complimenting someone.

2)You got this bent out of shape because your workouts with your much weaker significant other were brought into question…in 2006.

Apparently you feel no one should hold that opinion.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel the need to rummage through posts over 2 years old just to hold a grudge over something that wasn’t that serious to begin with.

I hope every other pursuit in your life is more successful than this thread or your attempts to call me out.

Good luck and have a great one.
Just reaching aren’t you, jackass T-Nation King? I mean, in this thread you called me out for my far reaching goals, but since you can’t do that anymore because I obtained those goals, your going to call me out for my overall success in life…of which you have absolutely no idea.

I would wish you success at your pursuits in life, but your only pursuit is to play T-Nation king, so i guess I am left to wish you luck with your continued T-Nation jackass king reign.

Heck, maybe if you step away from the keyboard, you may have a girlfriend a little longer than “I’ve been seeing someone” as you stated in this thread, but then again probably not.

I wouldn’t reward myself for getting me bent out of shape if I were you. I actually take pleasure in publicly embarrassing you and pointing out to your kingdom what a jackass you are. Recalling threads really isn’t that hard to do if you pay attention.

Remember this one? You seem to come to grips with what a jackass you are:

Also, arnold seemed to bring bodybuilding into the home. Not to many people know who ronnie coleman, or lee priest is, but almost everyone knows about arnold. he was to bodybuilding what jenna jameson was to quality entertainment.
I agree on you with this. Not only was Arnold a great BB’er in his day, but he brought a charisma to the sport that helped him break into the mainstream.

It’s similar to why Hulk Hogan was/is so popular in pro wrestling. He may not be the best wrestler, but he was unparalleled as an entertainer. That’s what made him as mainstream as he is today.

There is something seriously wrong with you.

But hey, thanks for bringing this thread back to my attention. It was a great one.

I used some of the advice in that thread to land the job I have now…the one that allows me a shit load of free time. How you see that as a negative is beyond me.

Oh well.

You still suck as a person.
