Also, someone who is “skinny fat” will likely set themselves way back by trying to get ripped before they ever actually build any mass at all.

I can attest to this as seen by the pic. In 2007 I went from a 6ft skinny-fat 210 down to 180 in 3 months. Light weights, tons of cardio, 1400 cals a day. I heard light weight, high reps got you ripped lol. I expected to see abs at 190. It never happened. At 180, still no abs so I gave up all together. FTR, I had < 13" arms and was benching 50 lbs DB’s for reps and curling the 25’s lol.
I now feel comfortable enough at 245lbs to try and cut again and I’m sure I’ll look more ripped at 210 lbs now than 180 back then.

It takes time to build enough mass so that you even look good dieted down. Most people don’t want to go through that period.
The truth is, unless you started this with the build of a stereotypical “mesomorph” (only smaller), you will need to build that size first before dieting…to even see abs clearly without looking like a skeleton.
People would have thought I was sick if I been retarded enough to lose weight when I weighed 150.

I wish I knew that in 2007. I wouldn’t have given up lifting weights (although it was only a 3 month stint, 3 days a week). But it was a valuable lesson learned the hard way. I’m pretty sure I would have needed to get down to 165 to see my abs and my big head had me already looking like a lollipop at 180 lol.
There was an article on this site awhile back. Not sure who wrote it. But it talked about “spot reducing” and the fact that you could do it. Arnold beleived it could be done years ago. for years, experts said it was impossible. But i remember on this site, they talked about real world results and that spot reduction was indeed possible.
and just cause someone competes, doesn’t make them any more knowledgable than anyone else.

I drink milk, like 3 gallons in 2 days, and my arms are 23"
Oh wait, sorry, that’s the measurement of my shirt sleeves
you ever try the gallon milk in a hour challenge?
I drank 2.5 litres in half hour… I was literally pissing out milk. I was quite scared lol
I did it with skim milk at lunch once. I finished in like. A half hour. I lost a bet senior year of high school and had to.
it wasn’t bad and I got ten dollars.
But does skim count in that challenge of does it have to be full fat? I used the “milk is milk” loophole. Lol
Semi skimmed minimum requirement. Did it have the same effect on you? I don’t even think 2.5 litres count for me considering i pissed it out quite soon after… kinda the same as being sick
wow, I am truly amazed you guys still say you can’t gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. Are you telling me, if you take advantage of all the current supplements out there, ie… the newest forms of bcaa and best protein powders. are you kidding me. get out of the dark ages people. On this very site, they are saying with their newest supplement, you can gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. are you saying this site is lying? I have done it many times. i have known many guys who have done it. I think guys here just like to perpetuate that myth.
