I drink milk, like 3 gallons in 2 days, and my arms are 23"

Oh wait, sorry, that’s the measurement of my shirt sleeves

You can wear size xxxl shirts even if you weigh 100 lbs fresh out of Auschwitz. You can’t wear size 32 jeans if you have a 40" waist. Do I really need to point this out?

My point was the other guy shouldn’t worry about drinking milk if his body handles it well. Don’t be a douchebag.

No one was calling you fat. You also are bigger than many here so no one is acting like you haven’t made great progress. I just know what 32" looks like on someone that height, but who knows. Maybe you just posted a pic with bad lighting.
just measured out of curiosity and my waist (right across the bellybutton) was 34.25

<-----FATTY lol
LOL.

If my waist was a true 32"…I would troll myself. I would post pictures of myself until I got sick of it.
i know right.

if I was 32 at the bellybutton (without muffin topping myself by pulling the tape measurer so tight) I would look awesome! haha (assuming I didnt drop a bunch muscle by doing it wrong)

You wear 32" jeans supposedly, and I guarantee your waist is near 38" based on your stats and pic. That’s pretty damn misleading.

Just started bulking again and then I read in here a bunch of the vets hating on dairy (drinking half gallon of milk a day) and weight gainers (just started one a couple days ago). FML. haha

Lol at the first few pages of discussion with the guy calling Stu an idiot and arguing with H4M AND Ebomb.
If your body handles it well, milk is fine…I’m not the leanest guy here, but at 5’10 230 lbs I still have a 32 inch waist drinking about 2 gallons every 3 days.
Hmm, alright.
I’ve been putting down about half a gallon a day the whole time between 130 and 190, and hadn’t really noticed the problems a lot of people have. Whenever I cut I wonder if cutting out all that dairy will make a big difference as far as the “dairy bloat” lots of people say they get. (obviously, I can’t really distinguish this unless I cut the dairy but keep cals the same, which I’m not going to do)
Dude, I kept milk in for years. I don’t now because I’m not flat broke as a college student.

No one expects everyone to be buying 10 dollar steaks and 400 dollar supplements all of the time.

I can AFFORD to eat differently now. That doesn’t mean milk is bad. It helped for the time I used it. I’m not under 200lbs anymore though and am not just working on building a solid base of size…and there are now way more alternatives for protein than there used to be.
This, basically. Like many other things in this game, you don’t have to take an all or nothing approach Blaze. For me, GOMAD for around 4 months worked well to help me put on 10-15 lbs. It works pretty well for many people. But if you can afford it, are lactose intolerant, or have an allergy, you should consider looking into alternatives. It’s not evil lol.

Hmm. I didn’t mean to imply that I was going to cut out milk as I try to gain weight. I don’t really know any other way I can get 64g protein and 1200 cals for $1.70 (and yeah, money is an issue at this point in time.)

I just meant that I’ll consider dropping it when I decide to cut/do a mini recomp (which shouldn’t be for a couple months minimum). Probably going to utilize carb cycling, and as you pointed out, H4M, those carbs add up fast.

I’ve thought about going back to GOMAD. Last time I put on a disproportionate amount of fat though (given, I was drinking chocolate milk, 100+grams of sugar just from that a day probably wasn’t good for me). I put on 15lbs and put almost two inches on my waist.
Half gallon a day just seems to about be the sweet spot for now.

That comment was bit douchie but the shirt sleeve comment was fucking funny, I lol’d

This has been a really good thread. Good discussion of milk. X made a VERY relevant point to me that seems to be brushed over lot and that is the affordability of milk. Sure some people can’t hack it and there are better foods out there but milk is cheap so if you handle it well and are on a tight budget it can be a godsend.

A lot of weightgainers are complete shit. Actually I will say that any product that was called a weight gainer that I have ever seen was crap.
There are some decent protein shakes that have decent carbs as well but I think mixing your protein with oats/banna/nut butter would make a way better weight gaining shake.

Here in Australia every falvored milk I have looked at is made from lowfat milk. The calories from the fat is replaced by sugar to flavor the milk and it is hard to know how much sugar is added because the label doesn’t distinguish between added sugar and milk sugar.

I’m not sure if it is the same in the states but all that considered in my opinion there is a BIG difference doing GOMAD (or just drinking a lot while bulking) on plain full cream milk to flavored milk. Plain full cream ilk being superior.

I’m kinda wondering, how are the wheels? I have to wear 34" waists with a cinched-up belt because I’ll split my 32" pants if I sit or squate down–and I’m far from 5’10" 230

If you fit into a 32" pant comfortably with room to move, I’m just wondering if maybe the legs arent up to par.

I’d love if you proved me wrong though

I’m going to have to agree with Stu… cut the fat!

I can’t fit my legs or ass into anything much smaller than a size 40 waist…and my legs are only holding onto 30"…and my waist isn’t 40".

I would rather not make this thread some call out for overstand (that seems to be the in fashion thing to do…or maybe that is only when I post)…but I do see a point in the discussion of waist sizes because I think most people lie their fucking asses off.

For instance, I would be very surprised if Jay Cutler had a waist much under 38" truly even in contest shape.

The thread seemed to get a little heated and sidetracked here and there so I will be tentative in posting, and try to avoid being crucified.

For the sake of comparison, at a pretty soft 184 (still a newjack, be merciful) I wear size 32 jeans as well, but my waist (at navel) measures 31.5. I would venture to say that if you fit in size 32 at that weight, that is a feat in its own right (especially to those of us who dont even look like we’ve touched a weight yet).

People forget the fact that someone’s skeletal structure can have a pretty sizable impact on their appearance (and their pants size -lol). Jay would have been a refrigerator whether he trained or not.

S

Well my waist is 30 inches (bloated) and my shoulders are almost 60 inches.

Then again my wrists are about 5 inches and my arms are over 17 inches.

It’s about bone structure i guess.

Not just that, but yes, your waist grows a little too the bigger you get overall.

Some guy over 230lbs will likely not be carrying the same waist size when lean as they did when they only weighed 150-190lbs. Also, the bigger you are overall, the more drastic a small waist like “32"” would actually look.

A true 32" waist on someone over 230lbs at inches under 6 feet tall would be pretty fucking impressive.

Being able to still fit into 32" pants with those stats would be freaky.
