Yessss! You dont know how hard I was trying! Hold on I’m going to the gym now, to try to make body look like I actually lift, lol. But seriously would you reccomend doing some arm exercise 2-3x a week instead of once, like Im doing now?
Definitely. But imo id keep weekly volume the same in the begginning. Meaning if you were doing 12 sets total for your one arm workout do two workouts with 6 sets each. Then as time goes on you can increase volume of these workouts or add another day.
There is an arm thread in this section check it out. There are also a lot of threads on workout frequency check those out too.
Btw the taller you are the smaller your arms are going to look compared to someone shorter with the same size arms.
Okay so a few of you guys hit a good point. I have grown a lot taller in that time… That’s is probably large factor! Also I just started Defrancos WS4SB 4 day. I should follow that 100% right or should I add in some arm work? Thanks for the replys so far guys

you said you went from 5’9" to 6’0", so you grew 5 inches taller and your arms probably got longer. the measurements can’t be translated directly. just use your current measurements to base off of for the future. And start doing direct arm exercises if you aren’t already
I missed the part about gaining 5 inches on height. that explains alot. The DC training philosophy is correct. The more times you can train a muscle, the more growth you will get. The thing is though, you have to control the volume, or you will overtrain and not gain anything. Generally, if your strength is increasing and your enthusiasm is high for working out, your most probably not overtraining.

isnt that three? Haha but I get what youre saying
you grew 3 inches and gained 25 pounds, you didnt gain 25 pounds from lifting, you gained it from growing taller.
WS4SB has arm work already programed, if you decide to do a program, do it as written.
I think this is the most relevant point.
You gained weight proportionate to your height gain. Maybe even LESS weight than others would gain by growing three inches.
I think you need to eat plenty more than you have been.
So, yes, training your arms 2x a week may be a good idea but your food intake in a bigger issue IMO.
3 inches is a lot of bone and water mass. Even if you gained 25 pounds purely of lean body mass (bone, tissue, water, glycogen, muscle) it would be difficult to say that youve gained a lot of muscle. Add some fat to that 25 pound gain and your muscle gains are really not that impressive. This is just to put things in perspective, not to insult you.
Good that you made this thread now, while youre young. Work harder and smarter. It’ll pay off.
What kind of weekly progression and deload are you doing that you feel stuck and needing to change programs so frequently? 6 weeks in this lifestyle is nothing.
This all makes sense. Because I really dont look bigger or stronger I just look like I have grown…haha. But I have been eating around 3000cals so I will probably up it to 3500 or stop slacking. But hopefully with my strength increases come size increase. But I will definitely follow defrancos WS4SB directly.

Yeah ill usually do programs for 6 months or more at a time. Always have. I may make small changes from time to time like rep choices or maybe exercise selection, but generally ill wear a program out before I look for something completely new. Just saying I agree 6 weeks isn’t time for much.

Yeah I do what you do. I just worded it wrong. I will usually stay with the outline of the program but maybe Ill switch out exercises like close grip chin ups for close grip pulldowns and so on. And ill stay with that program for a few months. Maybe a little short but I just get used to doing the same things.
Alright my last post didnt go through, have to retype everything! Since I was 17 and was noticing my best gains I have learned a lot of info, like eating brown rice and eating it especially before my wo for a good pump. The thing is I noticed tonight while doing bis I have lost that pump! The feeling where you cant straighten your arms or where the tree of veins are flowing out of your pec into your upper arm. Idk if its the fact that i have gained a lil BF (now around 11%) or what because my intensity is def higher than it used to be.
Secondly, Last month or two I have lost motivation to go to the gym though I have fought thru it with consistency. Could this be my CNS telling me to stop or low T? Only reason I mention low T being that I am 19 is that I was having ed problems with the gf which shouldnt happen at my age especially. In the last two weeks I have been better though! Thanks in advance and sorry for the rant!!
