The homepage my work’s PC is configured to (Coach has moved to coach.nine.com.au) has a fitness quiz link on it today. I thought I would share.
Apparently, if you can do the following, you qualify as superfit:
-
if after 3 minutes of moderate pace step ups followed by 1 minute rest, your HR is <10 bpm above resting, and
-
do more than 10 pushups (muscular strength), and
-
do more than 25 pushups in one minute (on your knees), and
-
when lying on the floor, you can flex one leg past 90degrees whilst keeping your knee straight, and
-
your BMI is between 20 and 25.
It then has the following to say if you achieve these ungodly levels of fitness:
“You have an excellent level of fitness and probably work hard to stay in top physical condition. However, this is not an excuse to hang up your gym shoes for good. There are still ways in which you can enhance your fitness program to ensure you become even fitter, faster and stronger. Follow our workout advice below and stay at your physical peak.”
-
cycling, power walking, aqua aerobics, dancing for at least 20 minutes twice a week (aerobis fitness)
-
yoga, 10 minutes of stretching or tai chi three times a week (flexibility)
-
light weights, a circuit class or pushups and situps 2-3 times per week (strength)
-
or swap one of the above workouts for an all-around fitness activity such as jazzercise, squash or hockey.
Interesting…
