Are People Here Not Trying Very Hard?

Bump!

I’ve spoken to Weasel before.

Did the OP post any videos that meant shit?

I just scanned this entire thread looking for such videos and found none. The second dumbbell curl video proved that he could do 5 with 65 and that the fist video was a switch. It looked so much bigger in the 2nd. And, what’s with making a ‘proof’ video after you’ve already thrashed your arms?

The Deadlift video wasn’t anywhere near 500 and could have been quite lite. Those plates could have been anything. I only saw 4 that were clear to be 44’s and two that ere 25’s.

The Quarter Hack didn’t mean shit. Could have been any weight and it was quarter.

The Back Squat was probably 308, maybe it was only 220. It was a Half Squat, he struggled for the reps and we are supposed to believe he can Front Squat 400 deep? Yeah right. Jim, it’s hot here in Guyana, can you pass me some of that Kool-Aid?

There’s enough bullcrap here to leave little doubt OP has been training for more than 2 months. OP, if I’m wrong (I’m not) and you have been only training two months, the real weight you are moving is quite impressive.

Weasel’s videos always make me laugh.

I get to see him train live, in person.

I’m surprised Weasel hasn’t destroyed his body

Holy Crap! I’ve seen the older vids, but that hurt my spine just watching it! It really is proof of the randomness of the cosmic dice (or possibly some divine power) that this guy hasn’t crippled himself by now. I train damn carefully and my joints are f-cking killin’ me -lol.

He isn’t 30 yet. I was invincible too.

I doubt that guy will be walking without a cane by the age of 40.

He’s doing pretty well now… Much better execution and technique… Even laughs about his old vids himself I think (he posted here again about a year ago or maybe half a year or so).

Some guys are definitely luckier than others in some aspects… :slight_smile:

If he goes on the way he used to, no doubt. Last time I checked he wasn’t being an idiot anymore though… Good for him.

I think I have all 5,398 views, and it’s still funny

So, is a 65lb DB Curl, like the OP posted, impressive? I ask because that’s the only legitimate lift I saw him do and since I don’t train arms at all I don’t have a frame of reference. (I know, that’s sacrilege to not train arms around here, I have my reasons. No calves, cardio and I hardly touch abs either)

Anyway, I was just upstairs training legs and decided to see what I could do with dumbbells in between sets. Unfortunately my dumbbells skip from 50 to 65. I was able to do the 50 easily. I did 5, could have done 8 maybe even 10 but could tell I wasn’t going to get 65. I tried it anyway and was right I couldn’t get it. I’m sure I could have done 55 and I think I might have been able to do a single with 60.

Keep in mind the only claims I’ve ever made on this site are that I am week & skinny, and as I already said, I haven’t trained arms in years. So, I ask again, is 65 good?

He lives in the town next to me. He walks around just fine.

It’s certainly above average but it falls way below impressive.

A 65 dumbbell curl is VERY good! Actually it’s EXCELLENT considering it takes huge and strong arms to do that.

i’m 24, already injured myself deadlifting twice by losing focus and form, on pussy weights. if i tried weasel-form i would never walk again. blame genetics…

also, epic thread.

I just went back and counted up the weight on that deadlift. It looks like about 400, nowhere 520. 400 would be good 2 months in but there’s too much other bullshit for me to believe the 2 month part of the story.

From the inside out, assuming all metric;
2 X 22lb bumpers
4 X 44lb plates
2 X 33lb plates
2 X 11lb plates
2 X 25lb plates - I’m giving 25 on those 'cause they look heftier than 22
Bar = 40 lbs - That doesn’t look like a commercial 44 or 45 lb bar

Total= 398

90-100 lb alt. curls are elite level (but imo it’s, if you know how, much easier to get these than even a 450 lb bench, though you’re unlikely to ever get much stronger than that at DB curling unless you start turning them into oly lifts… Now hammer curls and esp pinwheels allow for more weight… Dunno about bar curls, few really huge guys still do them due to wrist issues etc… I don’t do them either… And most really big curls you see are by guys with mediocre arms for their size who do them like a reverse-grip hang clean…).

Curls are imo also not as affected by height and bw as other lifts… I’ve seen guys curl the 90’s at 220 lb bodyweight at 5’9 or so, and their arms looked it. Imo they’re also one area where natties can possibly hold their own against guys on gear, strength wise in terms of what can ultimately be achieved (just going by observation in that case).

10-50(or a lil more) are beginner level.

60-80 standing alt. db are intermediate imo.

Not always so black and white, but just to give you an idea. Talking curls being first exercise for biceps in that session.

It takes huge arms? My 140lb high school wrestling coach curled 70s and looked like a twig. WTF planet you from where a 65lb curl is excellent? You ever been to a gym before?
