Arachidonic Acid?

What do you guys think about it?

Ummmmm. Exactly what do you want to know?

Does supplementing with it help build muscle?

No

Why not?

I don’t know whether it does or doesn’t.

Just eat a dozen eggs a day and then you won’t have to worry about it. (Eggs are a rich source of it and, completely independent of that, are known as an outstanding bodybuilding food.)

Thanks but three eggs over medium is my limit.

Then fuck you.

Have a nice day!

Now that’s hardcore. A real blood-and-guts guy.

Corn fed meats and poultry are also high in AA.

Lol pussy ass bitch. You amuse me. Keep talking.
How old are you? Your stats?
More importantly, why are you talking about arachidonic acid, when you have no clue what’s on your plate on a regular basis?
Shit, even I didn’t pull shit like this when I was a total n00b.

You should be glad that there are nice people like Mr. Roberts over here giving you advice, and not brushing them off with your “my momma recommends to eat this” comment.
Like I said, keep talking.

Wow, lighten up. Jesus Christ whats with all the harsh negativity. You guys are acting like I spit on your mother. Forgive me for asking. I guess I took a wrong turn and ended up in dick hole central.

Here is Justin Harris’ take on over at elitefts.

What are you saying? Eating eggs is the equivalent of being “hardcore”? Oh yeah, It takes a major bad ass to eat eggs. “I ate 12 eggs today dude! I’m HUGE and hardcore! Wanna pinch my bicep?”

Intelligent and quick on the uptake, too.

He is speculating rather than pointing to actual findings.

The fact is, there have been some studies of, for example, high egg consumption. The adverse health effects he claims are not seen in those studies, “despite” quite high AA intake.

Now, as for isolated AA, I don’t know. But there is I think no reason to do that, as it is easily enough acquired from quality bodybuilding foods – though, obviously, there are those that shy away from eggs and red meat and things like that. That stuff just oozes of testosterone, you know. Yuck. Not very metrosexual.

hey Bill buddy, check your PM

What I believe Mr. Harris states in his short, simple, easy for a layman to understand article is information that can be found in any college biochemistry text book. AAs are precursor molecules for the production of series 2 prostaglandins and series 4 leukotrienes which utilize the COX and LOX enzymes respectively. These series 2/4 products are proinflammatory blah, blah, blah.

I seriously must have missed something Bill (and I did read it twice to be sure). What is he speculating? And…if you have studies that show that AA is not proinflammatory send 'em my way.

Thanks!

I’ve admittedly fallen behind on PM’s (anyone else reading that I hadn’t replied to, it’s not because of ignoring or having forgotten, I’ve just gotten behind on them and hope to get back to them tomorrow.)
