Shmecksi shmecksi vids, but no shout outs makes it not as shmecksi :frowning: but still quite shmecksi

That workout video contained such schmecks you should proabably put in on youporn.com in stead…

Whey too much praise for practically nothing. I gotz a lot to do before I’m worth any mention. But thanks <3

5/3/1 reload
Wednesday 8/31/11

Squat
somexsomex135
3x200
3x230
3x260
3x290
a bunchx135

Lower back was a bit fatigued and weights felt a bit heavy, but it could’ve been worse. At least it’s an off week.

Short and sweet. Wasn’t able to eat as much as I would’ve liked today, plus some random annoyances happened today that made the day somewhat unpleasant. But such is life.

One thing I felt while doing 531 was that the deloads were alittle too frequent and also very very light. What is your thought on this? Anyways, You’ve been hitting it hard aqua, so enjoy your reload and Cant wait to see some weights being smashed next week!

Sometimes I do feel like I don’t need the deload, but I definitely needed it this time. Regarding how light the deloads are, I followed something Wendler recommended (or at least mentioned). He basically said to do 3x65%, 75%, 85%, that way you are at least handling some normal weight. Something I’m wanting to try is to stagger the deload for each week. That way you are never fully deloading, just for one lift in a given week.

That’s actually a really good idea, so you’d be deloading a particular lift each week?

Sounds brilliant!

@ink: Well I’m not sure how 4 weeks would look like, but the main thing is that you aren’t deloading for a whole week.

5/3/1 reload
Friday 9/2/11

Military press
somexsomex95
3x115
3x135
3x155
3x175

Finally done with the reload. Ready to put in good work again. The week off really was needed and helped.

Edit: This was supposed to congratulate you on your great military pressing… so here goes: well done

@jake_j_m: thanks man :slight_smile:

5/3/1, 5 week, Day 1
Saturday 9/3/11

Deadlift
somexsomex135
5x225
5x240
5x275
5x315

bleh these were harder than they should’ve been.

Ab wheel
10, 10, 5, 5

Snatch grip DL
3x225, 245, 265, 285, 305, 325
2x3x275
4x3x255

Probably have more than 325 in me, but grip is weak and hook grip hurts lol. Anyways I’m better off starting off on the light side.

Good snatch-grip deadlift, based on how it looked though I’d say you have more then 315x5 standard dealift though. Unless there’s something I’m missing?

Thanks man. Oh, I have no doubt I can coventionally DL more than 315x5. For one, the reg. pulling felt off. Oddly snatch grip DLing feels really good to me. Secondly, and most importantly, I decided to take the 5/3/1 sets easy (i.e. just get the required reps) so that I can sorta push the assistance (snatch grip DLs).

Got to say, snatch/wide grip deadlifting just makes my hands want to die and not a lot else… but if you can pull well with it then it’s a hell of an assistance exercise!

They sure do kill my hands haha, I may have to use straps. Well I’m hoping they help. Since I suck off the floor, increasing the ROM should help. Just gotta give it a go and see what happens.

Deficit deads/speed pulls combo ? I personally agree with/can see the value of the leg press in helping out the initial breaking of the pull

Snatch grip deads are kinda like deficit deads, I just have nothing to stand on to create a deficit. So I went with snatch grip deads lol. As for speed pulls, I personally want to just get stronger before I attempt speed work.

It’s your huge traps that make it easy, broseph. And you don’t have anything to stand on for defecit pulls? A plate or two? A couple of 2x4s. Come on man, you can come up with something. Shit, wear lots of socks, haha

Lol that may explain it, maybe. I’ve tried standing on some of the plates I have, but they too wobbly. I’ll probably go to HomeDepot and get some wood lol.

LOLOLOLOLOL

Seriously though, you could get an 8’ board of 2x4, saw that shit into 3 pcs 2’ long, and 2 pcs 1’ long, and use the 1’ boards perpendicular to the other boards (which get 2 nails per side, through the 2’ and into the 1’ board), that lay across them (on top) and you’ve got a 4" platform when you’re wearing shoes. It’d technically be 3.5’ from the floor to the top of the board, but it’ll get you off the floor.

That make sense?

Like this.

AWESOME! A little project to help me procrastinate lol. Thanks man.
