Today was tough!
DL’s started out a bit heavier this week…
15 reps-175lbs
felt good with those…
Bonus set: 195x3
*felt HARD, but I wanted to push it…
2nd bonus set:
205x1… failed on the second rep…guess I was DONE!:rolleyes:
Db oh press- 30lbs- 10,8,8,9
Facepulls- 45 repsx50(+8lbs)
external rotations- 45 reps x 10lbs
static db holds: awkward!! started with 30lb dbs…nope, 25s? no. 20? guess again…had to use 15s!! How humbling…
And because I’m a glutton for punishment I did leg curls/drop set…2x/ no rest!!
started at 80lbs for 8 reps, 65 for 6 reps, 50/5 reps, 40/5reps 30/5reps
PS- my ipod died, and I had to put up with the shitty music ![]()
I feel like I’m getting stronger…or maybe just pushing myself harder which is why I joined this challenge…to be push and BE pushed…
Sorry to hear about the hubby mama, but you’ve got a great attitude about it, and that’s so important.
I was just going to say way to go on pushing yourself!! Like the others said, you can def add weight to those squats and that DL is serious. Great work!
I gander its a combo of getting stronger AND pushing yourself more. Maybe now that you’re stronger you have more body awareness and that allows you to push more? Who knows. But keep it up!
MIM- that 205lbs was not a fail, you got it off the floor once. Just sayin.
I’ve pulled 205 before…that’s my ‘max,’ but really I think it’s more like 225…
it was just after the other stuff, these were ‘bonus,’ sets…
Masch- …I’ve lifted with others before, and I magically lifted heavier and for more reps…I know I don’t push myself as hard as I can all the time…but now I have something to prove…something to train for…an end goal…
which is why I think a comp of some sorts could really take my training over the top…but if I don’t compete in anything, I will have to set my own goals and work just as hard!

I’ll sound like a blond when I say this, because it might be common knowledge, but I think the deadlift has had some carry over into my squat and vice versa…strong back to deadlift= strong back to squat!
My back and ab strength have been the missing piece to stronger lifts…DUH! Gonna try weighted push ups and planks after training today…
Part of my training this morning involves turkish get ups…which honestly I’ve never done before! This should be fun ![]()

13 sets of 5- that’s 65 reps on each side…dayum…
haha, 15 min worth of turkish get ups- 15lb db- one on the right, then the left…got 15 on each side…
took me awhile to get coordinated, and I kept laughing at myself.
then I heaped a plate on my back and did:
planks with 25lb for 1 min…2x…then a couple sets of pushups with 10lb plate- 12 reps

Nice workout! I just noticed you’re doing some EDT - how are you liking it? I was thinking of possibly doing 4 weeks of an EDT program in the near future.
