And this is my attempt after…a couple months ago, I think in Jan?? I hadn’t DL’ed super heavy for awhile…I’m so consistently inconsistent with my training, especially with squats and DLs…but no MAS!

The 1rm calculator from the 5/3/1 manual is saying 203 when I enter 180x4…and 218 when I hit 205x2…

Looks like a wee bit of hitching toward the end of the second pull video. The weight still comes up fast from the floor, tho.

It was all I could do to ‘lock it out.’ Makes a world of difference pulling that amount when you don’t actually weight that amount anymore :smiley:

TRAINING!!!

Bench- 35 reps total
I used 85lbs, and got 10,10,10,5…took about 4 min

It was tough!!

1 arm rows- 35 reps total(each arm)
40lbs- 10, 10, 10, 5- I got em @ 2min 30s

EDT style lunges-PUKETASTIC!!:smiley:
12sets of 5…I rested about 30s after two sets/each leg…phew!

Did you find doing lunges that way was easier or harder to keep your balance? I suspect easier, and if so that might be the variation for me.

I can keep decent balance on walking lunges, but static lunges of any sort are a different story.

I love static lunges! So I guess we’re the opposite :slight_smile: Maybe cause Im taller, I have to take long steps and get dooown…come to think of it, ya, I do lose my balance more with the walking variety…

I know lunges are great exercise, but I can’t do them due to a foot surgery a few years back where I had some joints fused.

There are 6 billets and Matt is # 8 on the list, and two people from his command are already medically dis-q’d…&%^ @#%

All we can hope now, is that his braces keep him from going… All he needs is a sig from the Doc saying he needs to stay and his command will back him up!

I guess I could rewind a bit…when you get to shore duty your name gets thrown into a sort of lottery of people needed overseas…mostly in Iraq or Cuba…duty is over a year long…he’s been making his way up the list ever since we’ve been here(2 yrs)

Now we just wait…and hope…

2 squats@95lbs<—forgot to calculate max to get a % of what to use…I’ll go up next time!!!
1 chin@ -60lbs(used the assist machine)
2 squats
2 chins
2 squats
3 chins
2 squats
4 chins

and so on til I hit 8 chins, then I started over til I got to 4 more chins, and I was wiped!

Then EDT-single arm OH tri ext.
I got 8 sets of 5 (15lb db)

Then BB complexes
Used just the bar for the first few, then added 10lbs to each side on the last 2…so 5 sets total, with 90s rest in between…

Curious, how long do you wait in between the sets? Or is it like raid fire, squats then straight to chins, then back, etc.

hehe, well if you watched the vid, I was walking back and forth between the rack and the assisted chin machine…you keep going til you cant do anymore! :smiley:

so about 20 seconds of walking and 40 seconds of rest…

something I probably wouldnt have come up with on my own!
