Well, if you take the arithmatic mean and apply a 3 sigma confidence interval, taking into account the inherent uncertainty and the fact that your scale probably hasn’t been calibrated to an international standard by a qualified professional in years… there’s a 95% chance you weigh 180.

Guess what I currently do for a living.
Lawyer?
haha I was going to say the same.

Okay, this is killing me… but this statement is incorrect. There is most certainly not a 95% chance that she weighs 180 and there would be no way to conclude that with the known data.

OBolle: LOL! I made all that up using jargon from work. I think I love you.

I manage some science labs and we adhere to very finicky quality assurance requirements, including producing detailed uncertainty analyses for everything.

Bobbi, nlmain: I don’t have the people skills to be a lawyer. Much too nerdy.

Hehe, thanks everyone!

Besides, the scale is just a number, right? We always tell ourselves that, but it can sure make for a good or bad day! hmph

Which reminds me, I need to take new measurements!

But tomorrow, since, gulP I had a slice of pizza last night…yes, just A slice…sometimes you think you want something so badly, that when you taste it, thats all you really wanted, was a taste…
.now that that’s outta my system I can move on! :stuck_out_tongue:

I really try my best to avoid gluten on a regular basis, but I know it’s not a forever thing…it’s best in smaller doses anyway ON OCCASSION…for me anyway…
…can you really imagine going the rest of your life without eating spaghetti or pizza again? I guess if you never had it you don’t know what you are missing…

LOL nice! As you can tell, I too am a math nerd (and stats was my favourite course)!

Yeah, I try to steer clear of wheat, but I have to admit, I succumbed to some crumpets today. Been months if not years since I last ate them. I think you have to cut yourself some slack at this time of year - back on the wagon in Jan.

I finally got to see the pictures (site has been wonky) and you look STUNNING. Awesome job on the weight loss and the body sculpting! You should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished this year.

Thanks Kim!

The ‘body sculpting,’ kinda took care of itself…more or less just getting rid of the layers that were covering up the muscles…

heres my plan for the week:

M-upper
T-lower
W-off
Thurs- body weight stuff/walking
Fri-off
Sat-upper

I think next week will be a kind of ‘deload,’ week…not really a deload since I haven’t been lifting heavy, but time to rest up a bit before I start 5/3/1!!!

oh, and no more school til the 4th of Jan…woot!

The kids around here lucked out and all the schools are closed cause of the snowstorm…gotta use up those snow days somehow! Now I have to covertly wrap xmas presents…and I have to sneak off to the store to get one more Santa present for my daughter…

My son and I are going to go see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie on Wed…yippee! :stuck_out_tongue:

well, that sucks…the childcare place was closed at the gym :<

going to do some bw stuff here, along with some high rep moves with the few dbs I do have…then hop on the treadmill…

Dont wanna let these HOT-ROX I just took go to waste!

Think Ill just stay in my piece of this forum…most of the threads ‘out there,’ are way over my head anymore…

I went out and walked to ‘warm up.’ made it about 20 minutes til my toes started to freeze!

I bet - I have a friend in Maryland and I gather it’s pretty bad there right now. But we’ve horrible slushy snow in London as well which makes it hard to walk anywhere without flailing around like a drunk zombie. Bleh!
I’m with you on the resting - my body feels really beaten up at the moment. I hope I can get it happy enough to start 5/3/1/ with you.

A drunk Zombie, LOL!!!

I think further up north(baltimore, DC) got the worst of it…although we still managed to get about 14 inches down here!

feel sorry for all the travelers stuck at the airports!

tonight was a bust…at least I got a quick workout in!

Had an orientation, meh…I think people are starting to sense my lack of enthusiasm…

I need a job.that pays money. on a regular basis. The idea of being a personal trainer is AWESOME! But its not working out like it did in my head. haha.

I won’t completely give up on it, but Im in job search mode right now. I have plans on going back to school in the fall, unless I find a cushy job related to my sports management degree!

Have you applied to country clubs and high end private communities? Those places hire trainers and usually pay a steady hourly rate regardless of if anyone is in the gym or not.

Thats a good idea, Bobbi, but as far as I know there aren’t any around here! I need to do more investigating though…and it would of course depend on if there was a need!

I felt that the gym I train at would be a good place to start out at, gain experience, etc…

But Country clubs? Tennis?
I can’t imagine women who would want to train seriously…that was pretty much my goal…to inspire women to be strong inside and out!

Well I guess if it came down to it you’d have to decide which you want more.

mim, I’m going to object to this statement. I bet the country club set includes many well-preserved wealthy older women who want to stay hot and understand that weight training is the way to do it. And perhaps are confident enough to be powerful. Um. I might be projecting. nevermind.

you could be right A!

One could say I don’t want this bad enough…but we’ve been living off the hubbys paycheck for far too long…I need a steady job like yesterday…I can still keep options open, keep doing orientations etc…its what happens when you just do things as you go, without a real plan! Lesson learned.

Also, the area in which we live is made up primarily of this Navy base…everything else worth looking into is basically 2 hrs away in DC or baltimore…sucks.

Arachne: you don’t know what sigma is here!
Mim – stay warm in all that snow.
I wouldn’t be surprised if country club ladies were motivated, either. Also things to think about: apartments and hotels have gyms, schools need coaches.
