i drink maybe twice a year.
vodka, straight, until i can’t stand.
I have to say I’m embarrased reading this thread as I have recently acknowledged that I have a big problem with drink. I actually stopped drinking everyday about a year and a half ago (coincidentally when i started training)but since then I would not drink for a month then go absolutely fucking mental on it.
I have now said enough is enough and kicked it completely as I could never have just one drink. I’m saying this as well because its mainly wanting to work out everyday that has really helped. Hurray for IRON!

It’s rough to go w/out drinking… At least in College. Out here it seems they don’t have bars that are “chill.” Every place is supper loud and supper packed. You don’t have much fun sober. And when all your friends want to go out, you don’t want to miss out on the fun, cause you know if you don’t go they’re going to happen to have a once in a life time night that they can’t believe you missed…
Sorry for the run on sentence…

â??Son,â?? he said without preamble, â??never trust a man who doesnâ??t drink because heâ??s probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. Theyâ??re the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. Theyâ??re usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that theyâ??re a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You canâ??t trust a man whoâ??s afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. Itâ??s damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when heâ??s heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl.â??

â??I feel sorry for people who donâ??t drink. When they wake up in the morning, thatâ??s as good as theyâ??re going to feel all day.â??

I don’t like drinking often… imo it takes all the fun out of it… I drink or several week intervals. Go all out with my friends something crazy always happens and we have a good story and memory…
Nope. Hate the taste. Dad’s a bit of an alcohol snob, so I grew up with a barber pole up my ass when it comes to alcohol. Tastes like crap to me, and I don’t find the thought of losing inhibitions to be appealing. Then again, I’m not much of a social butterfly either.
Thinking about what drinking does to my body on a weekly basis makes me wish that weed was legal and alcohol was illegal…

My dad always drinks whiskey… ever sense i was a kid he would give me a sip here and there… I believe because of this I can’t drink whiskey right now even if someone tried to force it down my throat. You get used to the taste… or you just drink mixed drinks… find one you like and its all good

moral laws have no place in our world
If there is a subject I am studying that I particularly do not care for, I have to have a shot of whiskey to get me through the homework.
I usually drink 4-6 beers every other weekend on average, just enough to feel good, and relax a little while hanging with friends. So basically, I can have fun sober, and I can have fun buzzed.
I never understood the concept of alcohol addiction, and how some people just can’t avoid getting shitfaced once they start drinking. The few times I’ve gotten shitfaced, it was a very conscious decision, it didn’t just “happen”. And I managed to stay out of trouble too. Whatever.

It really doesn’t make much sense… Do you ever hear people getting into fights cause they’re high? Abusive high parents? Mad high people in general?
Just throwing that out there…

Same here. I could never get addicted to alcohol, though the past few months I’ve been going over the top too often so I decided to cut it right back.
I hate being drunk and hungover. Weed > alcohol any day of the week.

Haha, good point.
Since I got serious about my training and diet seven months ago, I can’t tolerate alcohol very well any more. Sure, I can suck down a beer or two or sip a drink over an hour, but I just hate drinking like I used to. It’s weird too because I’m only 21, so the expectation is for me to binge drink 2-3 nights a week.
Personally, I hate how widely acceptable the drinking/partying lifestyle has become. I do not believe alcohol, or any drug for that matter, is needed to have a good time. IMO, acceptable behaviour would be a small group of friends drinking socially, maybe playing cards/poker, etc., or perhaps, a man & wife having a drink at dinner celebrating an anniversary. I am all for the notions “do what thou wilt”, or even, “live and let live”.
Your life; YOUR choices - you reap what you sow. It’s just every where I see, alcohol and other drugs are abused far too often, and as previously stated, society has too-readily accepted such behaviours as “ways of life.”
NOTE: Yes, I am straight edge. I made that decision AFTER trying alcohol and such.

Except they kick you out of the military for weed…but spending every weekend shitfaced/hung over is acceptable behaviour…wth?
OP’s opinion is exactly how I feel… I’m at U of I on a friends laptop, everyone else is beer ponging upstairs, and all weekend it’s been “why don’t you drink?” or “c’mon man, I bet them I could get you to drink, just one beer and I get 20 bucks!”
No man, you’re not alone.

Oh I have no problem with weed being legalized… I was just saying I don’t think anyone has a right to say what someone does with their body
