Anyone Not Like Drinking?

Anyone considering giving up Alcohol for Lent?

NEVER! iam what you call stright edge!!

Alcohol is for douche bags!!!

ok I’m not that extreme… but I am extremely anti-alcohol.

nope, i don’t ever drink. it’s not really for any particular reason i’m not against alcohol or anything and im not a stuck up douche that think they’re better than everyone because of it.

I still go to parties all the time and have a blast with my friends and enjoy meeting a lot of knew people but when they ask me where’s my drink I just tell them

“I’m not drinking.” if they ask me why I just say “Because I don’t want to.”

don’t drink anymore. been sober pushing 5 yrs.spent 30 yrs being drunk, wife counted how many days i was sober, the year b/4 i quit.6 days sober in 1 year.bare minimun was a fifth a day.

While I do binge on occasion I have always said this: If you need to be drunk in order to have a good time with your friends, then they’re not really your friends

Stopped drinking in August. Coming up on the 6 month mark, with no exceptions so far.

Quit the cigars/hooka as well but I miss my hand rolled Olivas (series O then G Cameroons then V)

:frowning:

Sincerely? Like “Minor Threat”?
Do you also adhere to the other Straight Edge tenants?

Not criticizing… just admiring. I went through a straight edge phase in my 20s.

I don’t drink and it hasn’t effected my social life. I can related to the strange faces when I turn down a drink from someone. I’d just rather use my money on something productive.

Eh, since we’re being honest here-I’ve gotten drunk a couple of times since I stopped drinking last may. One time it was when I was sick and used cognac as remedy (it actually helps), and the other time I had one glass too many of wine when I had a bbq at my place.
I drink red wine every now and then. i get the looks when I order wine in a bar. But I also get curious ladies asking me why wine and whatnot so I guess its a win after all?

amen

My buddy got smashed, passed out, and ended up jacking off in front of a bunch of older young ladies.

I personally am too much of a pussy to drink, and have been since I was 16, and don’t ever see it changing.

(I started and ended my drinking career in the same day sophomore year of high school haha).

I used to drink hard everyday when I was around 15-17 years old. I stopped though. Now I’ll just drink a beer every once in a while when I’m hanging out with my friends, and the beer is free, lol.

I get too aggressive and hostile when I drink. Last time I went out, I ended up throwing an oak trunk through a wall because I ran out of steak and was hungry.

That happened to me, except I was out of bananas (I love bananas). I was so pissed I went outside and started going around my neighborhood ripping all the stop signs out of the ground.

Your avatar looks delicious.

Itchy

You mention bananas a LOT in these forums.
I’m surprised your ava isn’t a bunch of bananas… or at least a monkey.

lol

Used to drink from about 13-14 years old. Nothing extreme, but got completely shitfaced every other weekend.

Around the time I got to uni, it just got old. There were a couple of times when I drank a pint or two of beer/cider every day just because I love beer and it mellowed me out, but in the end I said screw it because training was more important to me than the beer.

I don’t really drink anymore, period. In the past half year, I had a sip of champagne for NY, half a glass of wine one night when I couldn’t fall asleep, and I actually got pretty drunk with some friends on Saturday.

I gotta say, though, there is something to be said about drinking Russian-style. The point isn’t to just get shit-faced. I guess that in this country, people have to present an image of strength all the time, and being drunk offers them a respite. The point is, when drinking with Russian people, you sometimes have very meaningful and personal conversations that you would never have otherwise. It’s not enough to make me drink all the time, but when I do drink once or twice a year, it’s pretty cool.

im 20 and i dont drink( i live in canada so drikning at 19), i also feel its very annoying how everyone has to drink in order to have fun and all anyone does is go downtown and drink i dont tihnk it should affect your social ife, i do lots of stuff with friends but whenever they go out to drink i simply dont join them and theres been no problems

But in moderation, studies have shown that there are health benefits to drinking wine and beer. Not sure about liquor though. [/quote]
