Anyone Help Me?

8 years. Knee pain and discomfort. Latest PT says I just need to press through the discomfort and get used to a “new normal.”

That’s utter BS.

No one ever listens. If it doesn’t fit in a neat little box they’re helpless.

I need help. And I have yet to see ONE medical professional who actually listened, had a committed interest in me getting better, and had the humility to actually believe what I say about how my legs feel.

Yeah, I’m sure he’ll find a spot in his schedule for me.

Congratulations, you’re an asshole.

surely your genius!!! O wait too bad Dr. Andrews does/did more surgeries on average joe’s then on professional athletes. Guess your not well informed on how to run a business, or the practice of the medical field. These guys see 80 patients a day, you think they’re all professional athletes? Or if you wanted to you could see one of his fellows such as Dugas MD or better yet look up the nearest NFL MD , they’re all excellent. Now please quit making excuses and threads, get an MRI and have a quality person read it (see above)

I was ignorant about Dr. Andrews. But he’s still damn busy. A team doctor for three college football teams, and one nfl team. Not to mention 1000+ miles away.

And I’m no genius, but I know a smart-ass remark when I see it.

And I’ve had at least two MRI’s on both knees with no major issues showing up and numerous other diagnostic methods. I haven’t made any excuses so stop your bullshit. And the surgeon who operated on my left partial quad tear and looked at MRI’s on both of my knees was previously the team physician for the USA Olympic Gymnastic team. He specifically said he saw nothing worth operating on, after coming back to him after continued problems. That was probably 5-6 years ago, but the point remains.

And that point is you should stop pretending to know my full history and asserting things about me you could not possibly know, and stop going out of your way to be an asshole.

One more thing. If a doc sees 80 patients a day he’s seeing each for about 5 minutes. 5 minutes isn’t even enough time for me to describe my problems, let alone for him to think about it and make a diagnosis, the first of which will almost certainly be wrong, or at least very incomplete. I almost certainly need sustained help and multiple visits just to get the doctor to understand the problem, because their first diagnosis will likely be the same as what previous doctors have diagnosed.

I will still however take your advice and try to find a nearby NFL doc, because I was apparently (I’ll take your word for now) ignorant about who they see on a regular basis.

AW poor baby, MRI’s rely on the person reading them, henceforth you need an expert to read them and its highly variable between MD’s. There’s a reason they re seeing 80 pts a day, because they’re that good. Plan of care, get new MRI, get quality person to read it, if no new problem exists proceed to a knee scope …end of story

IF they haven’t figured out what’s wrong with you then no, not at all. Better go do some homework find the nearest inhabited city, find best MD in city, make appointment, report back.

Found an ex-NFL team doctor. (Jets). In NYC. Couldn’t help. He couldn’t find anything overtly wrong. Gave me contact info for a doctor in Connecticut who he said was one of the best in the US regarding patellar alignment. I could have not been more disappointed with the CT doctor. A complete joke. Went to that doctor and they were typical. See me for about 5 minutes, talk over me constantly, and offer nothing but a brace and no additional course of action or referrals.

The NYC doctor was EXCELLENT, aside from not being able to help. He probably spent a half hour with me and we talked in detail and I could tell he was really trying to figure something out. He also referred me to a doctor in France, yes, France, who saws people’s legs in half and rearranges them and puts them back together. I’d rather avoid that route.
