Ok today i tried this on ME legs day. doubled light bands for deadlift Maxes. I think 1 doubled light band on each side is about 50lb tension at the top and with my config about 5 lb at the bottom. I got up to 365 + the bands i failed at 385 just broke the ground.
Are mini bnads usually used doubled up for deadlifts? or can light bands be used?
my max DL is about 430-440 havent tested in a while but 405 is easy.
I did it in a powerrack. Doubled abound base of the rack then around ends of the bar (outside of plates)
I was on a raised platform (6 inch box) and the lift starts and ends on the pins. (this is cos for some weird reason they dun mind me banging the bar onto the pins but they whine when i drop weihts on the floor… haha those pins are gonna have problems in a while… but oh well, to make the gym happy) I did measure, and the height of the box makes the deadlift exactly same as lifting from the floor.
its a god exersice i use it all the time for speed squats…if your getting the kind of tension we have though and you were puling 385 i think you would be pulling near 600…thats why i asked what you dobule them around…what you should do is double them under the box and then wrap on the bar…thats what we do and we near 80-120 pounds of tension per mini around the top…bm
you would just wrap them under the box twice and make sure it is on the outside of the box where your feet will be and then put the bar under the band…i dont know if you could do that with alight band that would be some incredibile tension…bm
