Ok, I weigh 275lbs can I get away with using two scoops of Surge? Or do I need to take three?
I don’t have a bottle right here in front of me, but I’m sure that puts you in the three scoop category. I’m assuming a lot of that 275 is muscle and not fat, right?
That said, I’m supposed to take 2 and a half scoops at my body weight (about 212). However, I usually only take two and have still seen huge results as far as recovery and progress goes.
I don’t recommend that people cut their dosages in half with most supplements in order to save money. For example, sure, a bottle of Tribex would last longer if you only took two caps a day, but what would your results be? Better to hit it hard with 8 caps a day and get some results. But I also understand that supplements can be expensive.
So, to save dough on Surge I suggest 3 scoops after your toughest workouts that use a lot of large muscle groups, say, leg day or chest/back day. On an “easy” workout, like arm day if that’s the way you split your training, take a smaller dose. You might not get the same results as before, but you will see results. If you have plenty of money or want the ultimate results, take it at full dosage after weight training, cardio, rough sex etc. Hope that helps.
Ok, I am not trying to avoid excessive expenditures on my supplements - I beleive we have all spent 100’s if not 1000’s of dollars on crap that was never tested on anything other than post menopausal women or laboratory rats. I think I just have it stuck in my brain that I should try to avoid that many carbs at one time - it is time to “Think outside the Box” as they say. I am 6’6" so my weight of 275 isn’t as extreme as a shorter male being 275. My body fat is 10% an I am OK with that. I would like to say however that I sarted my first Androsol / Nandrosol cycle on June 22nd and plan to be on until the 20th of July. I am also taking Biotest’s ZMA, Grow and T2. I started all these supplements at the same time at 260lbs and 13% bodyfat and 22 days later I am 275lbs at 10% bodyfat!!! My strength is way up too - 3 sets of bench with 275 for 5 reps has gone to 3 sets of the same weight for 8 reps. Some one needs to put a yoke me, hook me to a plow and bet me like an borrowed mule -sorry I got a little to close to my personal fantasies - Haha! But seriously, thats 15 solid pounds of muscle with a 2% drop in bodyfat in 22days. My fiance has be rooting around in my stuff looking for needles I suspect. I AM ABSOLUTLEY BLOWN AWAY WITH THE POTENCY OF YOUR SUPPLEMENTS! After my Androsol/Nandrosol cycle is over I plan to start on Tribex, Methoxy-7, and Ribose-C. From what I have expierienced from the Biotest supplements that I am taking - I can’t wait! There is no telling how big I can get now. I know this post is long but felt like I needed to express my gratitude and thanks for all the hard work, testing, and retesting that was done to assure that these products would work. You have no idea what it means to me as a natural bodybuilder who has been stuck at 260lbs for almost 2 years to gain 15lbs of muscle and lose 2% of bodyfat. To all the dedicated people at T-Mag and Biotest - a truly sincere “Thanks.”
If the carbs are your only concern then no worries. I’m carb sensitive and I can diet easily using Surge. The carbs you take in after a workout won’t screw up a low carb diet. In fact, since you don’t feel “flat” during training and have great workouts, I think Surge can help on a reduced carb diet, as long as it’s only taken after training of course.
Hope this helps. I’ll be on the road for the next few days, so I’ll check back Monday.
Chris,
I’m a little carb sensitive as well. As a result, I only intake carbs after workouts(immediately) and then about an hour and a half later. So considering that 10 caps/day of Tribex is better than 8 caps/day, is 2 servings of Surge better post workout than 1? Or is our insulin sensitivity blunted to a degree from the first shake and therefore a whole food meal will serve us better.
Alpha Male,
Congrats on the gains. Just wanted to say sorry for “muscling in” on your post. Still, I haven’t heard an answer yet to this question. Train Well Brother.
Just a word of verification–Chris is absolutely right. I’m using 3 scoop servings of Surge on a keto diet (in fact, my empty Surge mug is in front of me right now!), and it’s been helpful. My strength and energy stay up without compromising my fat loss.
I think at the level of carbs you are taking in with surge you are probably getting close to the point of diminishing returns from you glucose infusion, I would probably say that one serving works just as well as two.
How long is a bottle of surge lasting for you guys?
Chris,
For the best results possible would it be better to use surge twice , one right after a work out and one an hour later? In that original article did he say something like that.
Just to clarify some things…
Its hard to know exactly how much surge you need to hit peak glucose uptake without “spill over” into fat cells. However it is ALOT higher than you think.
In my endurance athletes, they frequently take in 1g of carbs/kg of body weight every 2 hours for 6-8 hours after a workout…and they certainly DONT get fat. So if I was a runner (im about 200lbs), I would take 90g of carbs right after training, 90g 2 hours later, 90g 2 hours later, and 90g 2 hours later (Thats 360g of carbs!). With this said, I doubt 50-100g taken 1 x post workout would be too much!
However, it is possible for a 275lbs guy to take in too LITTLE carbs after training. So I would say just stick to the label recommendations and if you are on the border line (like 200lbs), if you are dieting, take the lower # of scoops and if trying to gain mass, take the higher # of scoops. You will only short change your gains/preservation of mass by trying to take too little.
In addition, I think the best strategy is to take the recommended dose after training then eat a FOOD meal of the same composition about 2 hours later (2:1 ratio of carbs to protein).
