I feel like the poison is the dosage here. An entire carton of egg whites is a LOT of egg whites.
We just had a black out, so cooking was limited to small appliances. Toaster oven omlette was the easy option or as we call them here in Qc, sugar shake still.
Week 3: Day 2
Make up accessory work somewhat
leg extensions: 5x7-70lbs w/ 5sec eccentric; 7x10-70lbs w/ 1min rests
Conditioning: 6x(40sec of some exercise+20sec off)
- this… reallly… sucked…
got it done
tomorrow is OFF
Sweet merciful jeebus! I’ve been in love with eggs for two decades, but i don’t think i could handle more than half a cup, haha
was supossed to be rest day, but ended up doing a 20min incline walk, really pushed it.
I’m still eating in a quite considerable surplus and the results are expected. I’ve only gained 1lb so far, but based on how things feel, I would not be surprised if I’m back up to 106 tomorrow
most of it is probably water, but there’s definitely fat too.
Also, cycle has been missing since January
None of it muscle?
@SvenG did you ever feel paranoid about disappointing your advisor(s)?
The UCLA profs are beyond enthusiastic about me and I’m starting on a project right now (question tbd), the issue is that I feel like I don’t have very good ideas, just topics I’m interested in. They seem to THINK I have good ideas lined up
My field is about different bc research starts day 1 instead of having 1-2 years of coursework before focusing on research
Every. Damn. Day.
I’m 15+ years beyond my dissertation defense, and I still worry about disappointing Steve… I’m not sure that ever goes away.
And I totally identify with this part:
Like being a disappointment, I still don’t feel like I have very good ideas!
But I made it through.
I’m still making it through.
And you will too.
Week 3: Day 3
Paused squat: 5c3-80kg, 3sec at bottom
Conventional Deadlift: 4x10-80kg
press: 7x2-40kg
bodyweight leg work: 5min walking lunges
seal rows: 1x50 rest paused, 25lb dbs
- the felt okay, was definitely fatigued going in
Week 3: Day 4 (yesterday)
30min fitness blender kickboxing and abs
db incline press: 1x20-25lb dbs, 1x16-30lb dbs, 1x11-35lb dbs, 1x7-40lb dbs
DB lateral raises
- the kickboxing felt really nice and loosened the upper back up, did some cursory accessory work
Weel 3: Day 5
50min weighted walk-25lbs in pack
- took it easy
Still feeling tired and unmotivated (even to leave my room and socialise). @SvenG it’s carnival. holy shite I do not understand how the booths get constructed. Will post pics later today when I force myself to take a proper tour
I was only ever a grad student there, so I didn’t really understand the whole carnival thing… But, yes, please post pics, because I do remember that time of year and it seemed like all the ugrads were having a blast!
did you do your PhD at CMU?
MS with the INI, PhD elsewhere. I was MS-12, if that means anything to you.
Oh! I know ppl doing that!
So you can ask them about “MS-XX”. Really it just means I’m old, haha!
we’re at MS34 now ![]()

Told ya it meant I was old… Time flies and all that.
@svenG
.
These are all built and painted by undergrads over the
course of three months. Each Greek org and some larger student org makes one and each one takes hundreds of hours of work. Actual insanity
Some changes.
-
I’m adding “daily work” of 100 air squats and 209 walking lunges
-
I’m going to do Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for lifting
-
I’m going to switch some of the conventional deadlifts for paused deadlifts bc apparently they help help with getting deadlifts off the ground
