I spontaneously dropped 2lbs when I weighed myself this morning. Looks like it was water weight after all
Week 13: Day 2
Press: 2x3, 8x2- 85lbs, 2min rest
Pullups: 2x6, 1x5,4,3
3x(5 gorilla rows/side+5 curls)
Burpees: 10 regular + 10 2 pump+ 10 navy seals+ 10 burpee w/ squat chaser
- legs felt surprisingly great- so weird not feeling destroyed after squats, regardless, very happy w/press and pull-ups, pretty sure 2x3 at 85lbs is a pr and 6 pull-ups is definitely a pr, felt smooth too, got rows and curls in @simo74
You did it!
I rarely do heavy curls and I confess, it’s surprisingly fun
Good to see you getting those curls in. Also good to hear you aren’t feeling destroyed.
Fact check: False. Curls are not fun.
If you plan to take days off, you’re not skipping workouts.
Also if you exchange “workouts” for anything else and you might see why that could potentially be a problematic pattern.
Just did 3 sets of 25 of these yesterday - can confirm not fun
@Cyrrex @cyclonengineer don’t worry. I’ve not given into the cult of curls. I only did 3x5
Also, I’ve noticed that even when I’m doing high rep strict curls, I don’t really feel curls in my biceps
Week 13: Day 3
Front rack carry: 1x200m/side-25lbs
overhead carry: 4x50m/side-25lbs w/1min rest
Overhead lunge: 3x16 alternating/side-25lbs
Good mornings: 3x12-65lbs
Z-press: 3x8-20lb Dbs
- didn’t want to do anything but carries sounded fun so I threw this together, front rack carry a lot harder than expected considering it was only 25lbs, rest of it felt good and took a lot more out of me than expected
Random update: My friend (the one I always talk about) has once again managed to be 2 steps ahead of me.
I wonder if this is a metaphor for something and I am just not getting it, or is the friend make believe and in a bunny mask like Donnie Darko ?
The friend is very much real
He’s the president of the econ research club and is the reason I passed intermediate micro, diff eq and discrete maths. He’s also an impressive researcher and has the most incredible work ethic
Part of me is glad he is real, but another part is disappointed and wanted this to be much more interesting. LOL
There is some more interesting stuff, but I’ll spare the details
@cyclonengineer Just learned that aforementioned friend is getting his paper published.
I’m so happy for him, but it’ s another reminder that I’m not really doing good enough
I just feel like I’m half-arseing life, but can’t seem to get myself to do better
What are you guys, juniors? I thought we were in the same year of school. Publishing a paper at this point has never even crossed my mind (I mean, I go to a MUCH less prestigious school and am probably less smart than you). You’re not not doing good enough. You’re not failing life. You’re not falling behind.
You really need to start comparing yourself more to yourself and less against others.
Kinda the same for me.
Not really surprising, your shoulders are so strong I doubt your biceps do anything.
That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
Publishing a paper in undergrad at all is a rarity in my neck of the woods.
