Anna's Training Log Part 2 (Part 1)

Yeah. TBH whether someone is natty or not doesn’t really matter as long as they’re not cheating.

I’m not aware of Stefi Cohen ever even claiming to be natural. The possibility never crossed my mind, it’s like thinking that Styrofoam might be natural.

All the top lifters who compete untested are using drugs, with the possible (but highly unlikely) exception of the odd few who claim to be natural. As for the IPF and their affiliates such as USAPL, right now it looks like a lot of people are using drugs, unless it turns out that anabolic steroids in fact do not work. That’s the unfortunate truth. There are other federations that have both drug tested and untested divisions, so there is not really any incentive to compete tested if you are using, and there are also plenty of natural lifters competing in untested feds. The way it looks now, there isn’t much difference between the IPF and untested feds so just compete wherever you like.

She didn’t, which is why it’s not a problem

Is there any who believe that someone in the professional sport is natty??! Even in the checkmate and shooting they use drugs, just different types.

Oh sweet little innocent child. Haha. But yeah, shouldn’t stop you from trying to emulate her.

Yesterday’s training

Week 3: Day 5

4x(10 barbell rows-30kg+100 jumping jacks)
4x(12 bicep curls-12.5lb Dbs+100 jumping jacks)
4x(15 adductor machine-95lbs+100 jumping jacks)
3x(15 tricep pushdowns+15 face pulls)-22.5lbs

  • pretty tired and sore so decided to take things easy and get the blood flowing, felt good and quick- pretty good pump all over

Week 3: Day 6- Conditioning

40min weighted walking- 35lbs
Squat technique: 4x3-60kg, explosive
Bench: work up to single- 55kg
Technique: HS walk

  • pretty intense- went uphill, felt quick and good but sore traps made it the harder than anything, Squats felt harder than expected- really focus on technique and explosion, surprising how much the intention to explode adds to intensity. Bench felt heavier than expected, not bad though

@T3hPwnisher @ChickenLittle @EmilyQ An overly generous family friend sent me an amazon gift card so I can now afford to get a real lifting belt. Is it worth the splurge at my level? If so, what brand/type/model would you guys recommend

One of my bigger regrets is not getting a lifting belt sooner. They’re an awesome tool to have.

Only one I can vouch for is the Inzer 13mm Forever lever belt. And I tend to recommend the 13mm to everyone, however, given your stature, that may in fact be overkill. But Inzer still makes a great belt. Customer service is awful though, and no idea if they deal through amazon.

I am unimpressed with the Spud Inc Multiply deadlifting belt. It’s pretty pointless to me. Doesn’t seem to provide any support. I also got an elitefts retro base belt, which was garbage, but also doesn’t seem to be sold on their website anymore, so they most likely realized it was garbage too.

Okay, idk if I’m ready to splurge THAT much…

definitely. Do they even make 13mm belts small enough?

I\m not sure is there so small size to fit to your waist- I suppose it’s less than 48-50 cm.

I’m not that slim  My waist is 53-58cm (depending on how bloated

I think the key too is to get a narrower one - so make sure it’s 3” instead of 4” or it may not comfortably fit between your ribs and hips.

Folks say 10mm is a good middle ground. I’ve only used 6.5mm and 13mm - I much prefer the 13, but it is a lot stiffer and took a little getting used to.

No way!!! May be your mesurements are wrong. You are so teeny tiny girl :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I definitely don’t have a 19in waist… Thanks though!

I bought this one. $40 on amazon.

I have had zero problems with mine despite some of the reviews.

But! I wish I would have bought a tapered belt, because as @TrainForPain said, it really bites my ribs.
I think we should ask @brute_fury she also suggested a tapered belt.

I bought a “steel swear weightlifting belt” off amazon so I could try a cheaper one before I bought a good one, which I’ve yet to order. It’s pretty dang flimsy. I also plan to go lever next time I buy one. Not a fan of the prong. When I’m super gassed and I just want it off it’s hard to stop the panting to suck in and loosen it. I feel a lever will be much quicker and easier.

I’m currently using a velcro belt that I wrap around twice to fit, so pretty much anything is an upgrade

I know I wasn’t asked, but I really want to put this out there. Just not yet sure if they’re already approved for whatever meet you plan to compete in, so there’s that.

LOL! I’m in an infinite offseason until I have the money and resources to afford traveling and paying for comp

Haha. Anyway, I think it’s totally worth it. Last time I checked the website, a 10mm belt is a little over 100 bucks assuming no fancy fancy customizations. Should last you a lifetime. I know Ben Pollack was really happy about this belt too
