Ankle Dorsiflexion

i have a screw in my heel like the pic. would that be likely to provide structural limitations on ankle dorsiflexion? i will keep up with my mobility work etc but starting to think my lack of dorsiflexion might be orthopedic rather than soft tissue. docs haven’t really had anything sensible to say about it…

Is that your actual X-ray?
I cant see any spurs on that X-ray that could be impeding dorsiflexion. Do you have any pain with dosriflexion? How long ago did you have the surgery? What was the original injury?

Both my feet / ankles have problems so hard to use comparison to figure normality / abnormality. The first pic was a random pic I found on the internet (so forget about it). I’ve managed to convert my actual x-rays, though. Will attach them. I’m prepared to do whatever soft tissue mobilising / stretching / manual manipulation will help. Just worried about wasting my time trying to manually manipulate what is orthopedically immobile, though. Worried about ankle dorsiflexion with both feet. Also worried about my ability to balance my weight on the ball of my foot without my toes clawing into the ground (to Jerk).

x-rays were taken last year about 4-5 years after time of injury. collision / impact injury. i was pretty sedentary when i was injured and while i did have extensive in and outpatient physio i didn’t keep up with my rehab the way i’m motivated to now. took up Oly Lifting about a year ago. working very hard to recover whatever ankle / foot / toe mobility I can.

Developed compartment syndrome in my right foot. fasciotomy opening up the inside arch (guess that is why they did the screw for the calcaneus fracture the way they did???). Apparently I’ve still got some dislocations in my mid-foot but they were lucky to save it and I had 5 operations already so…
