Androgel Cycle Newbie

After digging through the boards, I realize that this place is full of some serious knowledge. I would love to hear what everyone thinks or see links to previous posts.

I’m 41 and have been inactive for a few years. Started getting back into it a few months ago. Working out about 3 times a week. 5’9 215 with decent mass but I should be at about 180. Never done steroids.

I tested with borderline testosterone levels and my doctor agreed to prescribe androgel. (Great guy) His recommendation is 5mg per day. I haven’t started yet.

I know I don’t want to be on androgel for life but I haven’t decided exactly what I want to do. I’m thinking of doing a 10 week cycle of androgel and working out 3 or 4 times per week with about 30 minutes of treadmill 3 or 4 times per week.

I may do two weeks at 5m the 6 weeks at 10m then back to 5 m for 2 weeks.

The goal is to gain mass and get down to at least 190.

Has anyone done this? Any thoughts? All responses are appreciated.

If you would like to have potentially (depending on absorption rate) normal test levels begin using the androgel (or preferably injections) and keep using it until you are dead. However, you need to realize that androgel should not be defined as a “cycle.” It is simply a testosterone supplement.

I don’t have the time to go through all the ancillaries you need to consider as well. I am sure someone else will help…

Just to clarify, androgel is not a “supplement” either. It replaces what your body is not making naturally.

The idea of an androgel cycle is ridiculous. It will shut down what little endogenous test your body is still making and merely replace it; hence the name hormone “replacement” therapy. With the way most respond to A-gel, it will probably leave you with lower levels than before you started.

If you want to persue HRT for health purposes, spend some time reading this forum and the stickies at the top of the page. Especially read as many posts as you can find from KSman, Happydog, KNB and brentf13. There are a lot of knowledgeable posters here who are willing to help if you are looking to help yourself.

Thanks for the leads. I’ll check out the stickys and the recommended members.

I know I don’t want to do androgel long term and I don’t really have to because my levels aren’t really low. It seems that when people do a steroid cycle they do it for a short period of time and then taper off.

It seems like i could do this with androgel and it will be cheap and legal. Probably won’t get a huge result but I dont see that it could hurt too much.

thanks.
