What’s your guys thoughts on running an Anadrol only cycle for 4 weeks if I need to add 20kg to my bench? I am choosing Anadrol since its suppression is surprisingly less than things like Anavar and also it provides incredibly quick gains. I dont plan on cycling long term so I want to avoid the full shut down caused by running Test. I am completely aware im going to lose all the gains as soon as I stop. So with all these factors accounted in, is this reasonable? and does anyone have experience with this?
This depends on a few other factors:
How many years have you been training fairly effective?
How much has your bench press increased over this last year?
How many AAS cycles have you run?
What was your average weekly dosage in mg?
And just out of curiosity what is your max bench press and how much do you weigh?
Anadrol is fine. My only concern would be that it’s pretty strong and your strength will go up quickly which could lead to injury.
How much are you benching now?
Ive been doing sports for about 12 years, first started lifting 6 years ago, been training effectively (good diet and structure) for 3 years. My bench has increased 30kg over the last year. I have only ever run MK677, which is not a steroid nor a SARM, however throughout the past 3 years ive been researching steroids and SARM’s thoroughly so I do understand how they work and sides.
I weigh 70kg and I bench 110kg x3. so theoretically my max bench is 116.5kg but I dont like to use that since ive never actually tested that, so my bench is 110kg for 3.
I’m currently benching 110kg for 3 at 70kg bodyweight. Do you think I’d reach injury numbers if thats my starting point?
Hard to say. Depends on your joints/connective tissue. If you’ve been lifting this weight for a while and you do small increases i’m sure you’ll be fine but if you just let it rip who knows.
If your bench has come up only 10kg in a year adding 20kg in a few weeks might be a big ask.
Thats fair. Generally my joints feel/connective tissues feel fine, never really had many issues with them other than tearing the ligament in my thumb years ago playing rugby. Also I just realised I accidentally put 10kg, I meant 30kg.
I think what I would do is plan a 4-5 week training block to get this weight up and get used to heavier loading for reps. After that take a deload week then run the anadrol for 5-6 weeks and have a conservative plan in place to add X per week. Don’t deviate even if you are feeling great.
I’m 47yo though so take from that what you will. I’ve had my fair share of injury so I am a little more risk averse now.

Yes, i’ve taken it numerous times during a growth phase when i needed a strength boost around mid cycle.
I’ve never ran it solo.
How was your personal experience on it and what kind of strength gains did you see?
Last time i used it a few months back I went from repping 245 for 10/11 to 315 for 1 in a few weeks. I did the 315 unplanned on a deload week and it moved really easy. I didn’t push anymore after that.
Only thing you need to watch with anadrol is heartburn and possible stomach issues. I was running 40mg/day
Only running an oral cycle for 4 weeks doesn’t allow you much time seeing progress. I did orals every cycle that I did. I didn’t notice any strength gains until 10 days into the cycle. That leaves you with slightly over 18 days of seeing strength gains. Once you stop orals further gains drop very rapidly.
Having made 30kg of progress this last year might have you close to your natural potential.
I was very cautious using Anadrol and only ran it 3 weeks. BUT, if the AAS must be Anadrol and you are looking for a one time PR I’d say run it 6 weeks.
Back in the good ol days, there was a doctor that prescribed Anadrol-50 (only) to his strength and bodybuilding patients. They were prescribed 50mg twice a day for 8 weeks.
BTW, I used that doctor to prescribe me HGH (cadaver HGH because synthetic hadn’t yet been available)

Yes, I stacked three or four AAS throughout a cycle. I ran Anadrol around weeks 3, 4, and 5. It is a wet AAS, therefore I could not use it near contest time.
I ran Dianabol only the first 6 years I took AAS. (Up to 20mg/day)
Not much. But at that stage in my time using AAS, I had begun to close in on my genetic potential. Every little bit helped.
why 4 weeks? is this a comp or something? if so, I’d say yeah run it

So anadrol might be less suppressive than var but I somehow doubt it
AAS have three avenues of suppression… through the androgen receptor, through the estrogen receptor and through the progesterone receptor
Oxymetholone seems to be able to potentially interact with the estrogen receptor despite not being capable of aromatisation (either that or it REALLY fucks with the RAAS)… DHT’s aren’t capable of interacting with the aromatase enzyme to convert to estradiol (or any synthetic derivitave of it) so who knows. If it does interact with the estrogen receptor it’s suppressive through two pathways whereas oxandrolone is only suppressive through one pathway
Anavar can only suppress through one mechanism. Either or should put 20kg on your bench if you’re fully natty and haven’t run anything before
If you’re sticking to a weight class anavar is better as anadrol causes a lot of fluid/glycogen and electrolyte retention
