Anadrol Caused Hip/Groin/Shoulder Injuries?

I tried just about everything, except prescription painkillers, before taking steroids.
For me steroids have been the most helpful treatment by far. Joint pain virtually disappeared, as did fatigue. I took a low dose of testosterone200mg, and 375mg of equipoise. 16 wk cycle, then 16 weeks off. The positive effects lasted most of the 16weeks taking nothing. The equipoise helped the most for the joint pain.
The steroids were self prescribed, because I couldn’t get a Dr to give me some.I was told a ton of bullshit, by health professionals, they wouldn’t even consider them, despite there being plenty of studies showing they help. I don’t have a high opinion of most doctor’s. It seemed obvious for me to try them and I was 100% right that they would greatly help me. Eventually I got busted for possession, I got a lot of sympathy from the Police and the Court, but still ended up with a criminal record.
After I got busted, for some reason the Dr’s started to take my response to steroids more seriously, and I was given a prescription for testosterone. Previous Dr’s had either been misinformed about prescription guidelines, to scared of prescribing them(for their own interest), or outright lying to me.
In my country, Australia, you pretty much cannot get anything but testosterone legally. Steroids have been badmouthed so much they aren’t seen as a genuine treatment, despite being used so over the last 60years. They are only banned because of sports usage. They are banned because they work, not because they are bad for you, in moderate amounts.

Only doing testosterone, TRT now, due to lack of other legal options. Nowhere near as good as my self prescribed treatment, but better than nothing. I would jump back on EQ immediately if I could legally get some, but it is usually only seen as a veterinary drug, despite originally being developed for human consumption.
Deca is a steroid known for helping joints, and is still legally available in many countries, not Australia though as the drug company stopped manufacturing it for some unknown reason. It might be a good alternative, to EQ, but it carries a bigger risk of side effects like deca dick.
When pain gets acute, I head for the ibuprofen, to take the edge off. Not a good long term option due to liver damage.

I think its unlikely that Anadrol caused your original problems, unless you went complete psycho in the gym on a massive level, and caused bad tissue damage from too heavy weights, bad form.

I would go through the merry go round of Dr’s, and see if that doesn’t turn up some sort of helpful diagnosis, before going down the steroid route. It might not be the answer that you need. In the end do whatever works for you.

What studies? Anecdotally I’ve found they do help with chronic pain/fatigue and whatnot, but I’ve found very little in the way of literature to back my anecdotal experience.

The matter of the fact is, anabolic steroids are too complex pharmacologically and are associated with too many downfalls to consider prescribing in high dosages to aid illnesses like fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue. Using would have to be done by the patient, as a doc prescribing like half a gram of injectables per week aside from the most heinous of circumstances would be breaching the “do no harm” oath

So you think the Anadrol could’ve caused destruction that doctors can’t see?

You could get nandrolone up until 1-2 years ago. Can still get proviron. Clinics can prescribe Sarms (albeit in dosages wayy too low to make a discernable difference).

It’s amusing, as certain disease states still warrant AAS use. When one requires androgen mediated pharmacology in terms of pure anabolism, testosterone isn’t the best answer; esp if patient is female.

As to the badmouthing, very true. When I was in the UK AAS use was fairly common, it appears quite rare in Aus and the ignorance surrounding the topic astounds me given how common recreational drug use otherwise is over here. If I hear “doesn’t it shrink your penis” or “yea but he’s got a small Dik, he uses steroids” again I’ll scream.

Growth of the phallus during puberty is partially mediated via dihydrotestosterone release. So why on earth would taking test/DHT analogues cause the penis to shrink? Why are testosterone injections used to treat those with microphallus growing up?

I think they are, albeit no worse than tobacco.

No… You NEED to get that idea out of your head.

I don’t know what you’ve got, I can’t give a diagnosis. Whether you’ve got fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue endocrine aberrations, a rheumatological disease etc. See a doctor, look for a DX; you won’t find an answer on a bodybuilding forum

You’re fixated on something that happened five years ago because it’s convenient to believe this one bad decision has been the culprit for all that has gone wrong over the past half decade.

I’ve seen you post this thread before, you got answers contradicting your vested narrative and thus you’ve posted on here… Again… Asking the same question.

If you do happen to have something like chronic fatigue, chances are it wasn’t the anadrol either… Some people have bad luck, life isn’t fair.

What’s more, you probably need to talk to someone about this in person. A therapist, psychiatrist, close friend… Anyone who understands drug pharmacology. Acquiring a third person’s POV can sometimes shift things in perspective.

I’m curious how you came to this conclusion?

Because my injuries don’t make any sense. And of course steroids are not well understood. To feel like my body is completely falling apart makes no sense

most of them are well understood. Plenty of research. Plenty of education behind all of those doctors you’re not calling too.

Yes but Anadrol is the worst. Given my age when I took it 18. There’s no doubt it caused permanent damage

If there is no doubt, why do you ask the question?

So, based on no evidence whatsoever, you have absolutely zero doubt that anadrol caused these issues that, not only do you have no evidence it happened, but there isn’t even anecdotal evidence to back it up. Did I get that right?

I have no doubt you are having some sort of issue, but let the anadrol theory die, and go find an actual doctor that can help you with this. It almost feels like you’re in denial of a deeper rooted issue. You have gotten very sound advice on here, yet you insist on chasing ghosts

Actually the opposite, most of them have been studied a lot, in animals and ppl

I spoke with Dr. Thomas o Connor (the anabolic doc) and he’s the one who thought this could have caused permanent damage and bone issues. It’s not random. I wish it was a deeper seeded issue so I could get back to life

Ok, let’s pretend for a minute the anadrol did cause this permanent issue, what does it matter at this point? This damage has been done for a half of a decade and nothing is going to reverse this damage without going to a proper doctor.

If I cause severe heart issues from my tren usage, what good is it going to know if came from the tren, except for stopping usage of the tren? It doesn’t matter at that point, I would need to see a cardiologist.

If you get into a terrible car wreck, knowing what caused the wreck will do nothing to heal your wounds. You would go see a doctor or a surgeon to fix it.

The cause of your issue is irrelevant at this point.

My issue was never the question of Anadrol causing the issue it’s more so how to move forward. I have my hip surgery scheduled next week but all my other injuries are killing me. Like I don’t know if Anadrol is still cashing damage or if the damage is done if I repair it if I’ll heal

In all of the years you have been chasing this issue, you want to see if anyone else has had this issue, and from all of the responses I have seen on this thread and your thread from however many months or years ago, not one other person can corroborate your anadrol issues. You have even had a pharmacist or pharmacologist (something along those lines) jump into your thread (I think @lordgains is something in that line of work, though I could be wrong). No one can provide anecdotal, medical, or scientific evidence (except one anabolic doc, but I get the feeling he didn’t tell you anything concrete, only that it could be a possibility).

On one hand you say steroids are not well understood, but on the other hand you are convinced that one singular doctor has the only possible answer for you, that anadrol ABSOLUTELY caused this issue.

I get that you are looking for answers, but sometimes in life we don’t get those answers. I think you just have to accept the situation for what it is, realize that (unfortunately) you were dealt a shit hand in life, and figure out how to move forward. Constantly questioning a decision that YOU made when you were 18 is not how you move forward. That will keep you in the past.

I am not trying to be an ass, but you’re focusing on the wrong part of the issue and you are doing everything but moving forward, at least that what your actions on this forum show.

Seriously man, good luck, I really hope you find some peace and relief.

I commented on his thread months ago. I remember taking it serious. This is just one of those stories that’s horrific but I think we can’t clarify and probably not even help.

Your point in my opinion is one of the most important:

It can be helpful to know the reason behind these injuries and maybe the anadrol even had something to do with it, but the question is, how to move forward. Only medical doctors with experience on these injuries can help.

I don’t think the anadrol is the sole reason. Clearly, it can have an impact. It is a well known phenomenon that for example patients getting prescribed T4 (active is T3, also acting on a receptor similar to the AR) often trigger an underlying disease which is why T4 gets titrated up when first taken. So it could have triggered it, but still that doesn’t mean Anadrol was the REASON or is the UNDERLYING ISSUE, it was maybe and only maybe the trigger.

I appreciate your straight forward response. I’m not going to lie mentally this has been difficult. Going from a professional athlete to having pain moving has been a tough pill to swallow. Throw on top of that not having a lot of money to afford surgery is not easy.

If you were in my situation, what would you do? Would you seek out doctors and get surgery, peptides? Thanks again man.

If that’s the case what are the steps forward? Do I need to figure out what it triggered before doing surgery? I have hip surgery scheduled early April but I don’t want to do it if my body isn’t healing and causes the surgery to fail. I’m just so confused

I know I can see orthopedic surgeons to fix the injuries but what about internally, if Anadrol did trigger something how the hell do i figure it out and fix it?
