The Anabolic Solution
The Anabolic Solution for Powerlifter
The Metabolic Diet
I’d guess that Anabolic Solution is the new name for the Anabolic Diet. But maybe it was renamed Metabolic Diet and the Anabolic Solution is something else. Anybody know for sure?
The Anabolic Solution is what was formerly known as The Anabolic Diet.
My memory is a bit sketchy, so you’ll have to read the descriptions on the website to learn about the differences between them, but there are two versions – one for powerlifters, and one for bodybuilders; with slightly different approaches to the plan depending on what your goals are.
The Anabolic Diet is no longer in print (which is why you cannot find it on DiPasquale’s site).
Buy The Anabolic Solution - it has the same info, and more.
“The Anabolic Solution…is an expanded, revised and updated Anabolic Diet…the Anabolic Solution for Bodybuilders is much more advanced and completely replaces the Anabolic Diet.”
Great name by the way . . . but watch out for those sugar alcohols . . . they are lethal on the way through if you know what I mean.
The Anabolic Diet is indeed out of print but is available in eBook format (PDF) and has been seen on eBay. From what I understand, the anabolic solution is not an updated version of the AD, but one that has a range of Dr. D supplements peppered throughout. The metabolic diet on the other hand is in print and has probably has more citations and references. To be honest, I’m not sure.
For the cheapest/easiest option, the original AD (for bodybuilders/power lifters it doesn’t matter) is great. It has the original theory and is a fantastic read.
Good luck and chime in on the AD thread if you have any questions.

Sure it is. While the basic dietary ideas are the same in both books, there is more info in the Anabolic Solution - it is a little more detailed.
Dr. DiPasquale: “The Anabolic Solution…is an expanded, revised and updated Anabolic Diet.”
But if money is an issue: As you suggested, one can just buy the AD e-book on e-bay for very little - saw it there for $2.99. The AS sells for $30 in e-book form or $40 in hard copy.
There is a used hard copy of the AD on Amazon for $95. That is nuts. I do not remember spending that much for my hard copy 10 years ago.

Ah . . . the lovely world of pulling things out of context . . .
There you have it sugarfree, three options at your doorstep.
Good luck on the AD and we’ll see you on the thread of all threads.
I wrote the site same time I asked here. This is what they said
The Anabolic Solution series of books are the third evolution of the Anabolic Diet (the Metabolic Diet was the second step). Dr. Di Pasquale describes the progress from the Anabolic Diet to the Anabolic Solution at www.anabolicsolution.com/admdas1.asp
(and follow the “read more” links).
There currently are two Anabolic Solution books: for powerlifters and bodybuilders. Although the background theory is the same in both, they have some material specific to each sport.

sugarfree,
Having read that, if I were you, I would pick up the AD for really cheap, read the marathon thread and give it the lifestyle a go. The principles of the diet won’t change in the Anabolic Solution as it seems as though the writing is merely optimised with supplementation and more detailed explanations surrounding contest prep.
If you do opt for the Anabolic Solution, let us know what you think and some of the things Dr. D advocates in the new and improved AD.
