245 opener on the bench may be too easy for you. I think you may have to up it.
All the best!

the MMP seems to be quite the workout boost when you use it. Is this a standard, already for sale product, or are you a beta-tester for it? might need to getsmesome.

The vendor is testing it and the reseller as well, to see if he wants to offer it for sale on his site. Should be for sale after the testing period, cuz this stuff has only gotten positive reviews so far.
No downside - no side effects or negative reactions. You do get some of the expected beta-alanine tingling in face and extremities, but that’s normal for that amino.

I’m going to play cautious for my opener. I smoked 255 before my last meet and then couldn’t get it more than 4" off my chest at the meet after a helluva fight to squat 365 twice.
Thanks Hel, Jimmy and J_Willy. Nice to know you guys are looking at this log.
I’m hoping for some bounce back after these weeks of weakness training. My mass gainer powder came today, so I’m going to be sucking down three (with almond butter, banana and coconut oil) of those per day plus whatever I eat during the day.
I hope that’ll take me over 4000 kcals a day. I should put about 5 lbs on in the next two weeks which can only help.
His other videos are equally sick.
Sounds like a good plan…
big food, and reasonable openers.

Now I know what the powders all about, I was very curious. Dam your lifts are just getting crazy strong, those walk-outs on squat day are very impressive, along with the squats of course. Now I’m getting psyched up for your meet along with the rest of the guys. This is gonna be fun, and I’ll send all the Z-power I can!!!

Dang, one more guy following in your footsteps.
Eat. Train. Rest. Visualize.
Speed. Power. Strength.
Do violence to the iron. It likes it.

I have a feeling you learned a lot at that last meet. You’ll tear it up this time Skid, your lifts are great.
15 days to the meet still, don’t you all start getting me too excited about it too soon, now.
Looking forward to deads tonight and working my openers next week. That’s going to feel like a deload…

Deadlift Day
Deadlifts
135x8
225x5
315x5
405x3
455x3 (I think this is a PR)
455x1
Speed Squats
225x3
275x3
285x3
295x3
315 4x3
Chest supported BB row
185 3x7
Hang High Pulls
145 3x8
Straight arm pulldowns
80 3x8
Good night. Not able to do a lot of volume for back, but I think that weight for a triple is a PR for me. My form feels off, but I think it’s because I’m favoring the right lower back again and throwing it all to the left.
Since pulls were getting painful I switched to speed squats. 285 felt really light and 315 was not troublesome. Still able to make the weights hit the bottom of the bar at the top.
I’ve been putting my head down instead of keeping it back against the bar. This bows me over. As soon as I started driving my head back I was able to keep my whole back stiff on squats.

Nice looking session Skid!
Looking forward to seeing you tear the place up in two weeks!
Two points and an observation about last night’s pulls.
I’m much slower off the floor than I’ve been recently so back to sumos after the comp.
I’m better able to grind through the middle of the lift now from the mid shin rack pulls.
Last pre-comp openers testing week I struggled with my opener of 445. Last night’s 3rd rep was easier than that.
Now I’m starting to get excited.
I sure like this guy’s website.
Never purchased one of his knives, but it’s beautiful stuff and he talks like he knows what he’s doing…
Got mine in the 90’s, skid, and still have it. Here are my people:
This guy’s stuff looks good too. I want the farmer’s walk handles and a yoke.

I wondered if that was your branch of service when I came across the pictures. That knife of yours is going to outlast any of us, from what I read. ![]()

Didn’t take any Magic Marching Powder as I didn’t want to go too crazy with training today.
Bench felt really solid. Shoulder felt good. Practiced my comp setup (copied Scott’s) and commands. Pauses were easy to get off the chest and the speed was really good. Even the 245 popped up pretty good after the pause. I think this session will help bench openers day quite a bit.
Taking a day off after this one to let my back heal some more and then do Squat openers on Tuesday. I’m getting lots of calories now and I’m feeling pretty strong.
I suspect I’ve got 375 in me for Tuesday - which could put 400 in reach after the recovery week. I plan on pumping a lot of blood through my back on the recovery week. Nothing heavy, but a fair amount of reps.
Right elbow still hurts like hell past 90degrees of flexion, but it doesn’t seem to fire off on bench too badly and it gets a bit better after some warmup, so I don’t care.
Pissed me off during the pressdowns so I concentrated on throwing all the stress I could stand onto it. If it’s going to hurt then I need to learn suck it up. I can’t afford all the feminine products required to alleviate it. ![]()
Getting stoked.![]()
