BUT!!! you should hear me sing along in falsetto to “Rock and Roll Band”! (I normally have a relatively deep voice)
Playin’ for a week in Rhode Island
A man came to the stage one night
He smoked a big cigar
And drove a Cadillac car
And said, "Boys, I think this bands outta-sight Signed a record company contract
You know I’ve got great expectations
When I hear you on the car radio
You’re gonna be a sensation!
Nobody can scream [i]Signed a record company contract better than me! NOBODY!
Damn that song’s effin’ good! If you can hit THOSE notes, you got some potential, brother!
I remember buying that album when it first came out. Back then new artists vinyl records were sometimes sold in cheap gray cardboard covers (instead of the heavy white card stock which was widespread into the 70’s). That first Boston album came like that, and I’d play that damn thing over and over again and be amazed by the cool cover art, but wondered why it wasn’t the same smooth white cover as my Frampton albums.

OK, ID, Boston or Kansas?

Boston… if not just for Brad Delp’s amazing vocals (RIP).
Their song “Something About You” is rock ‘n’ roll perfection in my book, and I sometimes play that one song on ‘repeat’ for an hour or so.

Excellent answer!
I’m partial to Foreplay/Long Time myself kinda cuz I plagiarized the lyrics in my high school senior English Lit class when Teach made us compose a poem.
LOL! Seriously? And no one blew it for you? I hope you got an A+.

I DID get a reasonably good grade. My buddy was pissed cuz he tried the same thing a few weeks later with Kansas’ “Dust in the Wind” and she scored him low because of “nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.” That didn’t go over to well in a private Christian high school with a strict religious English teacher. :-)
That “signed a record company contract” shit was funny push, did the same thing. It got ugly when we(friends) tryed to sing Draw the Line by Aerosmith, that screaming incoherent spot, you know the one I mean, have no clue WTF Tylers’s singing, didn’t matter.

Do you like Elton John ID? Ol’ Bernies lyrics to go with Elton’s music was pretty special. Rather unknown gem here.

Hell yes, I loved Elton John! So many great tunes, but I think my favorite album was Tumbleweed Connection. The song “Come Down in Time” is sooo sweet.
The last album I bought was Rock of the Westies. It was more stripped down and a bit more poppy than previous efforts, though I believe the critics didn’t care for it. I still listen to it and love it. After that he kind of fizzled, IMHO. It was around that time I really got into Peter Frampton.
I didn’t at first, but then I listened to his rockers and I got seduced by his guitar work. I ended up buying all his records! Most were shite studio albums with no excitement. But in a live environment the guy just exploded.
I still think he’s a great guitarist. It’s a shame he’s lost all his hair.
