Black Sheep Squadron? Did he play the role of a Japanese admiral?
Yes and no, Yes Ba Ba Blacksheep but Frampton played a radio man on a deserted island.

Edgy, I got a lot of useless trivia shit rolling around in my head lol, sharp as marble I is.

Rage ATM is probably one of the bands that I like the most, but have never bought an album/CD/song on ITunes.

You respect the Machine?

You have been chosen to deliver the eulogy for Jani Lane (RIP). What will you say?

Frankly, I don’t know him, or a single Warrant song. Hair metal (as most of you might know) wasn’t my thing in the 80’s.

But here goes:

Rest in peace, Jani Lane
Your time has come and gone.
You could have walked in purple rain
On Prince’s purple lawn.

You had the chicks, the drugs, the cash,
On MTV, the vids.
Warrant was your cruise through life
And cruise through life you did.

Then Grunge came through and stopped the show
And dried up all your hits.
But hey, each bowl of perfect fruit
ends up a pile of pits.

Rest in peace now, Jani Lane
Take your final bow.
When you’re in Heaven, punch Cobain.
You’re in God’s hands now.

Man, that was lame.

For ID: Who are some artists you can recommend for someone who is a fan of Boris Vallejo and Frank Frazetta?

And don’t say Patrick Nagel

LOL! I like Nagel!

But you should check out Simon Bisley, Clyde Caldwell, and Joe Jusko.
There are others, but these guys derive from Frazetta and Boris.

outline to our listeners your thoughts on weight training, your current program and diet protocols…

Good lord, I just googled Simon Bisely. Its banging. Good pic.

QUESTION FOR ID:

I like Iron Maiden’s singles, but I’ve never bought an album. What’s a good starter album for me to purchase.

For the past 2 months I’ve been dealing with severe tendinitis in my quad tendons. I mean it feels like it’s on fire when I sleep and sit too long in one place. No quad training at all (my quads have atrophied terribly). Also my shoulder joints have been very painful.

Before that I was really into Phil Hernon’s training/eating recommendations. This was a 3-way split done 2x weekly. One heavy set of 5 to failure. Wait 2-3 minutes, reduce weight and do 10 reps to failure. Rest, strip off weight and do 15 reps to failure. That’s it - 3 sets per bodypart (choosing best bang exercises for chest, back width, back thickness, quads, hams, calves, delts, bis, tris etc).

He also recommended eating only when hungery, which was such a relief to my stomach. I did make some nice progress with this protocol, hitting a few PRs here and there. But I eventually got worn down by it, and now I’m doing more of a MAX-OT type of routine, each part hitting once per week. I don’t recover as well from high-intensity work done 2x per week. Since trimming my training down to once per week, my shoulders have been feeling better than they have in 2 years, and I’m now able to do barbell bench presses again!

I’m old and weak as fuck, but I’m training smarter now.

Hah! You’re just like me… I have a playlist of various IM songs, but no full albums!

My brother, on the other hand has everything they ever recorded!

My favorites are “Piece of Mind” (from '83), and especially their recent “A Matter of Life and Death”.

ahem

I like Nagel too.

The idea of Duran Duran, an atypical pure 80s band using his work for that album cover is so perfect.

It’s almost like in 1984 they said "[i]Hey! we’re such a pure 80s band…what screams 80s more than we do?..A Nagel painting!!!’

Nagel’s style influenced an entire “genre” of clip-art that still gets heavy usage to this day. Maybe it’s a good thing Nagel died young!

he died??

Yeah, back in '84 at age 38.

Ironically, he participated in an American Heart Association “Aerobathon” fundraiser with other celebrities.
Later he was found dead in his car from a heart attack.

Wait…I’M 38!
Nards wrote:

Then avoid aerobics.

Done! Retroactive to 1973.

Better ditch the crossfit Nards.

Bisley FTW!

I used to love his work in 2000 AD back in the day.

Especially his artwork for Slaine and ABC Warriors.

Always really liked Serpieri’s style for Heavy Metal mag as well.
