When I take time off, I’ll eat pretty much the same, although I tend to not cheat as much. I guess I try to keep my protein up, my calories sufficient, and realize that the extra calories I’d typically burn up training, aren’t going anywhere for the length of the break.

eating never changes… maybe just more of the same food
I usually take off a couple of weeks a year to coincide with vacations. It works out because when you’re out of town at the beach you don’t have to worry about finding a gym or scheduling workouts.
Whether your body actually needs a break most likely how your recovery goes and if you are doing well with diet and sleep. But I do know that psychologically a break from workouts and diet can work wonders.
I’m quick to lose weight so I don’t worry about diet when I’m on break. Actually I tend to eat less frequently but larger less healthy meals. Either way a week is no big deal on a diet if you get right back on it.
If you feel a week off is too much, work out monday and tuesday then take W-Sunday off…
Its 5 days but again your getting rest and you wont feel as bad mentally about taking off 5 days vs a week… I’ve known guys who can do 5 days like this but can’t break the mental part of taking off a ‘week’.
