Am I Squatting Wrong?

I dont feel that im squatting right. First off I am a 16 year old 6’1" and a 250 pounds. Currently without knee scrapes i am doing 485 and ive dont ever single possible low bar squat possible and i feel i get the most strange with a really wide stance and feet pointed out just a bit. Simalar to Donnie Thompsons squat. I can get alot of depth from that squat but my legs jsut can go parallel unless my feet are at sohoulder width. If anyone can hlep that would be awsome.

Wide squatting isn’t for everyone. If you don’t have the flexibility to squat to parallel with a wide stance you’ll have to squat more narrow.

I started lifting with people that knew what they were doing and this is what they had me do.

Posting a video would help a lot for anyone to determine if you’re too wide and too high on your squats.

Getting a lot of strange is most definitely not wrong.

just lol

I don’t know how you can squat without knee scrapes. I have to play on the monkey bars for at least three hours a day until I fall and scrape my knee before I can go squat. It’s a really time-intensive task.

This made me laugh harder than it should have.

There’s a reason why four year old kids are such great squatters.

I have abosulutely no idea what this kids question was, can anyone help me out?

This guy’s other post:

I want to know in what federation is a 485 squat at (assuming) 242 is a world record.

A 485 squat at the age of 16 is pretty legit espeacially if done in a powerlifting meet. That could clearly be be federation or even powerlifting in general record. Not saying a 16 year old couldn’t and has not squat more than that but if it was not done in a offical meet then its not a record.

Have you been taking English lessons from OP?

well jeremy, your young enough dont worry about the weight on the bar yet, play around with stances, and bar placement til you find something comfortable, then work on piling on the weight.

im going to guess op typed this from his phone

It’s ok. We all know bad grammar is infectious and you got it from the OP. Lots of zinc should clear you up.

Op, quit squatting. Focus on your education… especially your english.
