nlmain: respect. That is so weird about you. Have you had any signs of it at all showing up? Sometimes it is amazing to see people dealing with issues and yet still getting it done in so many other areas of their lives. It is crazy that you have not had the problems all of the others with your condition have had. Maybe you are a superhero and just don’t realize that you have powers yet!


PMPM: Wow i didn’t even know that you ever checked this thing out! Welcome! But no, alas i just have a regular old pituitary Adenoma…the problem is that it is making my pituitary secrete too much of some hormones and not enough of others, which is apparently giving me a couple different diseases…However, they say that people with my condition usually get really really fat…i haven’t at all, but have grown 2 inches taller since i found out about this…weird. Anyway thanks for checking in!

I’m bad about log stalking. I don’t check in with every one every day, but you get gossiped about as a “good log to follow.”

The prolactin issue made me think that maybe you had the same sort of cyst as my friend. She’d never been pregnant, but was lactating like she had just delivered! Be grateful you don’t have to worry about leaking nipples.

When she had the cyst, she was probably about a size 16. She’s now a 4. Her thyroid hormones went back to normal, her boobs stopped leaking, and the absence of seizures really helped. When she got the Total Recall procedure, the only evidence of the surgery was her nostril split a tiny bit, and she had a stitch on her stomach where they’d removed fat to stuff up into her head to keep her brain from leaking out her nose.

I’ll definitely be following you more closely now.

PMPM: i can TOTALLY make stuff come out of my nipples! i had to do it for a few doctors yesterday in fact! But man that hurts me! like a titty twister from hell! If that is how it is for you girls while breast feeding, i am not sure how any kid ever survives! i would punch a baby right in the throat for pulling a stunt like that!

on the upside, maybe this is why my bench had gone up! i really need to get a tumor that helps my deadlift though…stupid tumors…

-Was definitely fighting a little bit of the Deadlift flu today while getting through this…the time laid off and then hitting it hard yesterday took its toll on me today but I get through it and was happy i did.

-Everything felt ok, but like I said, i was just a little run down…waking up at 0300 probably didn’t help much either…but these excuses don’t make the truth not the truth…

Actually, when I asked about focusing on lifts, I meant more along the lines of, how do you maintain your current strength levels with squats while trying to bring your deadlift up to a new PR? Or do you just focus on bringing everything up together?

I just try to beat my log book in everything every day…then when my maxing out time rolls around, i just try to beat them all. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it does not…Thanks for asking though man.

just got back from a long run. Not sure how long or far…just running and remembering.

Stop forgetting…

I have actually only done 3x10 for one month of all my training time[proud to say that =)]. I do superset every pushing movement with a pulling movement, haven’t incorporated the weighted abs though. I plan on adding an insert and extract 6 weeks out from wrestling season to start really getting my anaerobic endurance back up. Thats also when I plan to do the workouts you were doing on the first few pages of this log. This is my last week of 3x6 workouts. Next week im doing 4x4 and will continue that for 3 weeks. Then one week of 5x3, then I’m maxing shooting for 285 bench, 465 Squat, and 525 dead. Then comes the Alpha inspired workouts :wink:

love the rant. as a woman who travels alone I often get people worried and asking me how do I do it.

Your #1 answer covers it. Don’t look like prey. be smart, stay in public places, don’t get drunk or stoned. Always be aware of what’s going on around you and keep as little cash on you as possible and the rest in the safe.

#2 There’s just something about having the husband build a fire for us when we are out camping. We hike like 10 hours straight in the wilderness and I am not worried. What ever happens we can deal.

#3 We bought a new condo and had to install all the light fixtures, appliances and cabling. He did it. I find that sexy as hell.

#4 He never asks what’s for dinner if he sees there is nothing on the stove. He will ask me if I want some pasta that he plans to whip up for himself. yeah, I’m lucky.

Slowly I’ve been learning to play those roles too, through the years. Especially now since our son is getting older.
My hubby grew up doing that stuff. And now shares camping, fishing, hunting, surviving, cub scouts with our son. I let him take care of it, but I feel helpless cause I’m unsure of so many things when he is away.

In addition to my lifting, sprinting, BB complexes and jumping rope, and strongman training, I have been running a few miles 2-3 times a week for the past couple months. The longest distance I have ran at one time has been 3.25 miles. I have been running about 6-8 mile a week. For the past two weeks I have felt a big drop in sex drive and not able to “perform.” I never have a problem with this. I remember reading about how too much aerobics can drain you and lower your Test and HGH levels. I know that I am not running a tremendous amount and that athletes and military guys do a lot of running. I feel that adding the running is the only thing I have really changed in my training/life. Do you think that the running could be a cause of my problem?

Not feeling depressed or anything like that. Sleep has been very good as well. I got 8 hours all but one night this week. Nutrition is good too. I do a 24hr water fast once a week but I don’t think that negatively affects me in that way. I don’t think it’s my training right now because I am not currently working up to a 1-5 rep max or anything. I’ve been keeping the reps a little higher in the 6-8 range.

I’ts funny because despite this little problem, I have been feeling great, I’m not tired/run down and my joints feel great.

Hey Alpha, it’s really motivating and just straight up bad ass that you would realize that the gym’s closed, but still get out and do what you did. Inspiring bro, keep that shit up forever!
