Alpha's Work II
Anyway here is the vid…the sexy piece of meat spotting me is the infamous Stclair20. Take it easy ladies, he’s all mine!

it smells like octopus sex and sausage in here…
If the above is true I would have never got on the bench in that position. Seriously, that is a huge press!

BTW: olive juice does not equal elephant juice or does it?

For that extract, did you mean like dbs on the ground, do a pushup on the dbs, stand up press them overhead, back down to pushup? Trying to figure out how to do this haha, i wanna steal it and cry.

^ I’m crying just thinking about it!

Funny, carbs affect me the same way…I’m still recovering from the debauchery that was Mother’s Day. (that rhymed)

I blame the Italian genes!!

Alpha, damn man! This may sound corny, but when i feel like cutting a set short, i remind myself what you do and i get another 5-10 reps somehow. Keep at it man.

Alpha, I spent the last few days reading both of your logs. I just wanted to thank you. Recent changes have me focused more on lifting and spending time with my kids and less on all of the other stuff I’ve been getting distracted by for the last several years. Reading your log could not have come at a better time for me.

Also, I have a 13 year old son who is starting to express interest in getting big and strong. I after emailing him some of your rants and explaining how you are fighting the good fight to keep all of us safe, you are now officially his Hero! (you knocked me out of first place, so now I have some additional motivation to get back there! LOL) I have started using complexes along with some of your other ideas that you’ve written about.

I know you keep your log up to serve as a motivation for others, so just wanted to share this with you: your intensity and general all around bad-assery, coupled with your ideals and integrity have made you a modern day role model right up there with some of the great men of history who’s ideas and accomplishments I expose my kids to. I can give you no higher compliment than that. You are a true asset to all of us here at T-Nation and we are lucky to have you around.

Thank you for serving our country and helping to keep all of us safe. Thank you for sharing your training knowledge and experience with all of us. Thank you for inspiring us and showing us what a no-limit lifestyle is all about. May you die empty, but not too soon!

I just got released to get back to some light weight today. Doc says light weights but I think she is being cautious. I am going to try a remedial Alpha routine. Thanks for the detailed post about your nutrition and your lifting strategies and a glimpse into how you can work all out and still survive and have a life and not become puny from over working.

Italians can’t rhyme. They’re good for one thing though, PASTA!!

Power GnP: Thanks man. Oh yea sorry i forgot that part, I am now 6’…was 5’10" but pituitary tumors help the vertically challenged…i recommend everyone get one!

hmmmmm…race to 5/6/7? that would be sick if we could get there…
5/6/7?

222…ah you’ve got me by 20lbs, all of which needs to go on the upper body; soon enough!

That would make sense, I’m used to the S-B-D order. Well Alpha you’ve got by miles on anything upper body and by 50ish pounds on the squat…700 deadlift is my only chance.

Mateus: Ha man, there was a time not so long ago that I would have looked at that workout today and said the same thing…it is just time doing it man. Your body can get there just like mine did, just stay with it! Thanks for the vote of confidence though brother!

Koss: Do you not view the phenomenon known as family guy!?!

Stewie (to Brian): I love you…
Brian: What?!? What did you just say?
Stewie: Uhhhh…Olive Juice.
Brian: Olive juice?..
Stewie: (Whispers) Olive juice you too!

That is hilarious stuff my friend!

Judsonfit: Keep them in your hands the whole time. drop to the ground do a pushup on top of them, legs back in, stand back up and OHP them, then right back down to push up position…They hurt pretty good!

MIM: Yea me too! when lying in the hot bath between the ice on my back I kept looking at my abs going…“I swear that one day set me back a week!” I want someone else’s carb tolerance!

Heracles: That is such a great compliment man! But in reality, when i feel like cutting out short on any of this stuff, i just think, “I know they are going to read this and I have to keep my integrity after talking about it so much” and finish…so I guess we all keep each other honest! Thanks so much man!

Angry chicken: I do not think you could have blessed me more than with those words…You hit why i do this right on the head. I just hope I can continue to inspire and help others, so that they can surpass me. Not only in strength and the unimportant stuff, but in all aspects of life. All of the choices we make (even, maybe especially) the little ones will shape who we will become, and maybe what future generations will look like…If I can help to advise anyone who will stand for something greater and follow their ideals, be it in lifting, or in life, than I can go to bed happy and content that night.

I really do appreciate your words and wish you and your son the best.

OG: Great to see you back around!!! I (Completely honest) almost PMed you today to see how you were doing, and then here you go and show up with awesome news!!! That is so excellent! Now it is time for you to make the doctors and all other nay-sayers look stupid by what you pull off! If you need any help with your programing just shoot me a PM and I will do anything I can! Man, it is so great to hear from you again!

Blu Ninja: Why oh why did you have to say pasta!?! Now I am going to have to spend the next 12 hours whipping my self to stop dreaming about it! Oh and were the Beastie boys both jewish and italian??? I’m not sure…but they could rhyme a little bit…One thing is for sure…Scotts cannot rap! well, myself excluded!

My. rhymes. is. dope. yo.

Power GnP: Blu had it right my friend 5/6/7 Bench Squat Deads…I honestly this this is within my reach…

Hopefully I will be able to hit a 500 Bench in the next year or so, the 600 squat withing weeks/months, and 700 deads in like the next millennium or so!

I think you will catch me in no time man, I truly do…There are quite of you lurking right under there who are going to stomp on me as you blow by…mark my words…buuuuttttt I’m okay with that as long as I get to kick Modi in the shin if I ever pass that old man! Right now, I just like putting my name in the same sentence with him…

-Just got a call that I may get the chance to hit the gym tonight…if I can, I’m going for the 640 DL…but no promises of going tonight…anyway you roll it thought, that stupid weight and myself are on a collision course sometime this week…I wonder if it is dreading the encounter as much as I am…

Have a good day everyone…

Sick. The pack of cards is impressive enough, but to then add that burpee/squat press in is pure torture! And you call that an active recovery!! haha

Mighty impressive stuff as always, and thanks for taking the time to explain your training in a bit more detail. It’s very much appreciated.

That is why elephant juice>olive juice! Just think about it (or say it in the mirror). You can tell StClair20 that at your next love fest.

Good Luck on the 640 DL.

Happy dead lifting!

Olive shoes works too.

you can rap too? wow! haha

Pasta is my kryptonite…

I have been meaning to ask you this for weeks now…do you use milk in your shakes or water? I know you are low carb but do you ever push them pre w/o? Dextrose, fruits, anything? Haven’t heard anymore updates on the new supps…

AdamF: You got it man, thanks for checking in!

Hey Kross…olive juice…and thanks for the wish of luck man!

MIM: I rap as good as Kenny Rodgers!

Mateus: Always water in my shakes man, but I am a milk-a-holic. If I eat a solid meal that day, you can just about guarantee that i drank milk with it! I need to keep a cow in my guest bedroom for a never ending supply of the stuff…and for the obvious other reasons…

As far a supps:

I really dig the z-12! I would definitely recommend it. It completely chills me out and seems to help with my sleep some…It works as advertised…

-Surge Workout Fuel: i can honestly say i have experienced next to NO DOMS when i use this stuff…which could be good or bad depending what you are looking for i guess…But it is a TON of sugar, and I honestly feel no “extra energy” effects or anything else from it…but like I said, it seems to be great for recovery…But to be completely honest, for my own training, and the price…I will not be buying it again…I think Power Drive is a more viable option…

-Alpha GPC: i have no idea if this is working or not…am i stronger than i was in the past? yes. Does it have anything to do with this Supplement? I have no idea…I do not feel any noticeable difference when taking it, but that does not mean it is not there…

Really my verdict is still out on it…i tell you what…if I get the 650 DL by my birthday, i will owe it all to the Alpha GPC, if i don’t I blame the Nazis…

My plane was delayed coming home from LA yesterday so i did not get home before my gym was well into its way for closing…Now it is 0300 in the morning and I am back up to leave for work again…I haven’t been to bed yet…and am not sure when my next chance will be…But it is my plan to try that DL on my way home…as long and I make it back home…but with the way my week has been going, it is real iffy!

Hopefully there will be some new vids up by tomorrow of me lifting some heavy things…

‘What would Alpha do?’
I asked myself as i was finishing up my workout, knowing all too well that I should not be done. I asked myself that question with a smile on my face thinking it was funny i was thinking of a poster on T-Nation to find some motivation. Wanting to be done…‘what would alpha do?’…alpha would tell me to do what i hate, in this case it was walking dumbbell lunges…but myself, i wanted to call it a night after a decent workout and taking two finals…‘what would alpha do?’…

Alpha would pick up those dumbbells and sweat some more…thinking to myself, ‘if you leave now Jackson, i am going to call you a bitch once you walk out those doors’…i picked up the dumbbells and started doing my lunges. First set done, second set done…starting to feel the sweat. Typically, 2 sets is all i do. ‘what would alpha do?’ alpha would pick up those dumbbells and do another set.

Third set done…forearms…throat…quads…all burning, knees wobbly…‘what would alpha do?’ alpha would pick those DB’s up and push through the pain. Got to the half way mark, DB’s slip out of hands…can’t stop now, only 15 more yards. Picking up the DB’s, sweat dripping off my nose, forearms on fire, throat dry, i get back to the starting point…db’s fall…my ass follows.

‘what would alpha do’ I can’t answer this time. ‘when does alpha stop?’ never. ‘who is alpha?’ no longer a poster on this site. no longer a superhero in this world.

Alpha is the motivator inside of me, alpha is the man that won’t let me stop until i am a better person then i was yesterday, alpha is the man in me trying to take over this kids soul.

Alpha, my one goal in this world is to know that when i leave one person to say ‘damn, Jackson is no longer with us, that man made me want to be a better person and know one can ever take that away from me. He will be missed.’

Alpha you make me strive to be a better person, and no one, not one person including you alpha can ever take that away from me.

For that, I thank you.

JaX Un: Wow man, i guess the only thing I can really say is thanks! Your words mean a lot

A big problem that a lot of general fitness trainees have is that they’re like grass. Now, grass is wonderful; it bends and sways and never breaks. It can survive a tornado very well.

The oak tree on the other hand, doesn’t do so well, because it looks at a tornado and says, ‘Bring it!’ Sometimes the oak tree survives and sometimes the tornado breaks it in half. Athletes are like oak tress. They don’t bend. They either rise to the occasion or they break.

13 May 2010: Training

No inserts on Strength days from here Until my B-day to try and see if I can break some of these records…

Strength: Giant Sets

1a. Deads: 315/3, 405/3, 495/3, 545/1, 585/1, 640/Fail…
1b. DB Swings: 80/8, 80/8, 80/8, 80/8, 80/8, 80/8
1c. Weighted Decline Sit-ups: 6 Sets of 8 with a 45lb plate behind my head…

2a. DB rows: 130/5, 130/5, 130/5, 130/5, 130/5, 130/5
2b. BB incline: 225/3, 275/3, 315/2, 365/2, 385/1, 420/1 (New PR)
2c. Leg raises: 6 Sets of 10

Extract: As fast as possible:

7 Muscle Ups
10 Hang Cleans with 225
7 muscle ups,
10 hang cleans w 225
7 Muscle ups
10 hang cleans with 225

Deads: I am doing something wrong…585 comes up with relative ease (as easy as 585 can be to lift!) but then once I get over 600 I seem to change something on my form and cannot get the bar past my knees…

I took a vid of the 640 Fail and I literally ripped the bar off the ground, but lost all of my speed once it hit my knees and it just stayed there while my body convulsed unable to move it…if I could just get past my knees i know I can lock it out…WTF?!? Furious is the nicest way to put how I was after this miss…

BB incline: well I hit a PR on the BB Incline…and there is a vid…but I am not posting any of the vids from today because in my sleepless stupor this morning I left my hat at home leaving my face for all of the world to see…I will get some of my worthless attempts to fail next week…420 on incline is not too bad though…

-Well I just told that I will not be around for a few days starting tomorrow and I will be completely MIA as of a couple of days before my B-day and beyond…so i have just a few attempts left at these lifts…that blows…

As of now I have beaten my former:

Deadlift PR
BB Flat Bench PR
Inc BB bench PR
Military PR

Have tied my:

Weighted Pulls PR

And still need to get at beating my:

Squat PR
Front Squat PR
Military PR

i think i have a good chance of surpassing them all, but i still REALLY want that 650 DL! But If I don’t figure out why I am screwing up there is no chance…I will hopefully get the chance to do some research on it, but if any of you guys who pull big have any suggestions…shott them my way. (I would show the vid, but for obvious reasons I cannot…sorry, i know I am not much help…)

Take it easy…i will check in when i can

Try this. Set up your fail weight on the DL in the power rack on the pins (rack pull). Set the pins so the bar is just under your knee cap. See if you can pull it. Evaluate your stance and form from your fail point. You may figure it out there. Got nothing to lose…

Unlucky with the Deadlift dude, I’m sure you’ll get there…the rack pulls^^might be a good idea (not that I have a massive dead)

Looking forward to some updates when you get chance…
