A big problem that a lot of general fitness trainees have is that they’re like grass. Now, grass is wonderful; it bends and sways and never breaks. It can survive a tornado very well.
The oak tree on the other hand, doesn’t do so well, because it looks at a tornado and says, ‘Bring it!’ Sometimes the oak tree survives and sometimes the tornado breaks it in half. Athletes are like oak tress. They don’t bend. They either rise to the occasion or they break.

13 May 2010: Training
No inserts on Strength days from here Until my B-day to try and see if I can break some of these records…

Extract: As fast as possible:
7 Muscle Ups
10 Hang Cleans with 225
7 muscle ups,
10 hang cleans w 225
7 Muscle ups
10 hang cleans with 225
Deads: I am doing something wrong…585 comes up with relative ease (as easy as 585 can be to lift!) but then once I get over 600 I seem to change something on my form and cannot get the bar past my knees…
I took a vid of the 640 Fail and I literally ripped the bar off the ground, but lost all of my speed once it hit my knees and it just stayed there while my body convulsed unable to move it…if I could just get past my knees i know I can lock it out…WTF?!? Furious is the nicest way to put how I was after this miss…
BB incline: well I hit a PR on the BB Incline…and there is a vid…but I am not posting any of the vids from today because in my sleepless stupor this morning I left my hat at home leaving my face for all of the world to see…I will get some of my worthless attempts to fail next week…420 on incline is not too bad though…
-Well I just told that I will not be around for a few days starting tomorrow and I will be completely MIA as of a couple of days before my B-day and beyond…so i have just a few attempts left at these lifts…that blows…
As of now I have beaten my former:
Deadlift PR
BB Flat Bench PR
Inc BB bench PR
Military PR
Have tied my:
Weighted Pulls PR
And still need to get at beating my:
Squat PR
Front Squat PR
Military PR
i think i have a good chance of surpassing them all, but i still REALLY want that 650 DL! But If I don’t figure out why I am screwing up there is no chance…I will hopefully get the chance to do some research on it, but if any of you guys who pull big have any suggestions…shott them my way. (I would show the vid, but for obvious reasons I cannot…sorry, i know I am not much help…)
Take it easy…i will check in when i can[/quote]
Try this. Set up your fail weight on the DL in the power rack on the pins (rack pull). Set the pins so the bar is just under your knee cap. See if you can pull it. Evaluate your stance and form from your fail point. You may figure it out there. Got nothing to lose…
