Very true! Just wanted to let you know, as an n of 1, I really appreciate them. They are extremely informative. I’m glad to hear you don’t intend to stop! Even if you did stop right now (although I see you just put out another - awesome!), you would have been a great benefit to me. So, I think the moral is - thanks!

@TrainForPain Yea man, not stopping yet, just re-evaluating…I really appreciate the kinds words and I am glad they have helped you out some brother!

TUESDAY, 12JULY2016 - Work For Today

TESTING - Deadlifts…
135
225
315
405
500
585
700 (PR and FINALLY Pulled it!)

https://www.instagram.com/p/BHxYlarjW-d/?taken-by=neversate

After that, I hit a few rounds of:
Grenade Single arm Barbell Rows
Banded Glute Ham Raises
Reverse hypers

But honestly, I was just happy to have gotten out of the 600’s so I called it a day.

NOTES:

  • I can remember the day that I pulled 600 and never thought I would see 7. Now that 7 is down, i will start marching up to 8. I can even remember when 455 felt like it was the heaviest thing in the world…It is amazing what small incremental can add up to. Really happy with this and that I don’t need to think about it anymore.

Hope all is well out there with all of you

Mega congrats on the deadlift Alpha. That used to be the one lift I was able to catch you on. Now I’ve gotta start chasing you again. Get 800 soon.

Yes Alpha! Awesome achievement! Well done man couldn’t be happier for you.

Congratulations! That is absolutely amazing, I’m really happy for you! Now go kill that 800!

Seriously, the best thing I’ve seen all month.

You never cease to amaze me! Awesome milestone, love the mini-celebration after. That is 100% me when I hit a PR, albeit typically a few hundred pounds less but a PR all the same.

Also, in regards to your videos, I have been helping some friends jump on the fitness wagon including eating healthy and I have referred a lot of them to your channel for QandA’s, technique tips and your recent nutrition video as well. So they are 100% being appreciated, just unfortunately not by enough people!

Brilliant work, and a seriously nice deadlift - I don’t doubt that you could reach 800lbs in the future!

Holy fuck. So happy for you bro. That’s a mean pull.

Way to grind through it mate

^last two posts. No limits here.

Awesome! Congratulations!

@T3hPwnisher Thank you so much man, 800 feels a world away right now!

“The truly lived life, is not a routine existence in some quaint, picturesque village of safety and certainty. No, the life worth living is out there, in the wooded wilds of the unknown, on the craggy battlefields that test our wits and will in the daily fight with our own demons. It is found during the long onward slog through the storms and strife, when we only hear the whispers and taunts of foes and opponents stronger than we…It is out there, outside the confines of our comforts and the pleasures of our accumulations, beyond our architecture of the routine, that we slip the bonds of our limiting beliefs, soar magnificently above our own shortcomings, and express our highest selves.” --Brendon Burchard

Random thought - when next you publish an article on T-Nation (or anywhere else, for that matter), could they link your YouTube channel in the author notes? It’s not out of the norm for them. This site has a lot of “marketing channels” each article takes advantage of, from the actual website to Facebook to Twitter and all the secondary sharing from social media.

Hey, you should submit some quick clips IMMEDIATELY!! check this out…

Maybe your record heavy pullups or dips?? Circus dumbell might look good or front squat with the drop after. Something gruelling outdoors with tons of mud and sweat etc etc

what people posting so far…

Include your front squats with the drop, also chins with all the attached 45 lb plates.

@TrainForPain Yea man, that is a really good idea. I cannot remember if I tried that or not or if it was permitted. I am working on an article for them so I will give it a try when it is doing. Great Idea!

@RampantBadger & @biker I will do just that, great call guys! Thanks!

NOTES:

  • Great first day for getting ready for the national championships. First time I have had a yoke on my back in months so i was happy with the speed but I need to get MUCH Cleaner/Faster if i want to be competitive.
  • Circus Dumbbell Seems to coming around. 160 felt light and the the transition from clean to press is cleaning up. Lotsa work to be done here, but a good start all the same.

Training VLOG: First Day on my Road to the 2016 National Championships. Check it out if you are interested in following my training leading up to the show. As well as some camera outtakes…Thanks for the support everybody!

Awesome work. Yoke, I find, has one of the longer adjusting periods for getting back into. The first time I did a yoke walk was with 350lbs and it felt so heavy that I had no idea how i’d get up to contest weights of 700lbs. Your foot speed looks par for first day back and you’ve got plenty of time to improve on that. Stones as always look strong, and you’re definitely better at circus dumbbell than you think. There are some beasts out there, but a lot of guys really fumble hard with it so you’re definitely sitting well to put up a great placing.

Anyway, cannot wait to see how the next 100 days unfold. Keep kicking ass.

This is awesome. You should definitely throw some videos up there Alpha!
