There you go, I watch his videos as a part of “pre workout supplementation”, I feel they are better for pschying up your nerves than any stimulant out in the market.

man, i wish i had them, but they disappeared along with the log…sorry brother, good to hear from you though
Just gotta say I read your log religiously when it was up and going really did help me with my training. So thanks for that man I really appreciate it.
I was wondering if you’d be able to post an example of what you’d do for complexes?
That’s really annoying that your logs disappeared, there was tons of useful info and ideas in there.
Glad that you’re still around though, even if you have to be in the background a little more.
Alpha as I understand it you train mostly alone (as do I) you have built up some fantastic lifts how did you manage to get you pressing lift numbers up to such a level without a spotter?

Hmmm An average complex for my would be something like this:
Thow 100lbs on the bar, do all exercises without letting go of said bar…
8 Snatches
8 Military Presses
8 Front squats
8 Behind the neck presses
8 Back squats
8 Deadlifts
Now drop the bar and sprint 400 Meters as fast as you can.
Then during 1 minute of rest, add 10 lbs to the bar and repeat
then during next 1 min of rest add 10 more lbs and repeat.
Do thins until you puke your brains out or put a gun in your mouth…
If done correctly they will suck after your first round, and get progressively worse…if it doesn’t suck, add weight and stop resting.
Thanks for the question bro

Lurking is better than gone all together I guess…It does piss me off too. Read below…

haha! You know, I think not having a spotter helps me, because if I don’t press the weight, it crushes me!
But seriously, —I never work to failure…I honestly cannot remember the last time I hit the wall. I ALWAYS have 2 in the hole, or I just fail at a 1RM because of bad form. And on 1 rm I usually have someone within yelling distance that will bail me out if i eat it…
Training partners slow me down and don’t challenge or motivate me, so alone is how I have always done it, and will probably do it.
Thanks though bro
FOR THOSE PMing ME:
IF you are looking for my log (Alpha’s work) it is gone. Unless you have some crazy internet skills that can resurrect it from the world wide landfill, it will always be gone. I’m sorry if you didn’t get the chance to read it, but there are no links to it, or special handshakes, its deleted. But I have set my profile back to public for those of you who asked if you could see it…
That said,
I am getting ready to try some totally new stuff for me that will hopefully challenge me in ways I have never been challenged before.
I have about .000001% of a chance that i will make a log of it, if I do it will be filled with usual rants, quotes and of course my workouts a thoughts…But again, it is a very low chance of this happening.
Again, I will be up to inspire others, but I do have to say that you guys keep me accountable…I couldn’t do what I do without the support I get.
Either way, I’ll be letting you all know if this idea starts to take shape…
Die empty
Alpha’s work is gone? I knew I should have printed those rants and quotes out. I actually printed one but the right hand margin was cut off. If you truly do not have copies of your own I could figure out a way to get it to you… if you wanted.
They were pure gold. In my opinion they were right up there with the best of the A-dogs and other articles here. Didn’t you sumbit one to TC? It would be cool if they could post in as a eulogy to Alpha’s work. Not sure if you could allow it or not though all things considered.
Your thread was by far my favorite one in the recent past. Incredibly strong work ethic and strength on display.
What a loss for the T-Nation archives ![]()
I hope your battle against the tumor is going better.
Peace be with you if it is peace you seek.

Firstly, sucks that the log is gone. It was a helluva resource.
Secondly, the youtube vids still kick ass. Happy to still have that.
When you do PR’s are you doing multiple on the same day i.e. deads, squats, bench, etc.?
How are you incorporating those complexes into your routine? Just pick a day and go with it, or is it something that you strategically schedule for yourself?
I also see from the vids that your deadlift stance appears to be semi-sumo. Is that right? Can’t tell from the angle of the cam. And what is your grip? Looks like it is right inside the width of your legs. Same with the squat, stance is a little wide with the bar low on the traps. Almost like what Chad Waterbury recommends. Is that the way you have always performed those 2 exercises or is it something that you have tweaked and altered over time?
Thanks!

AlphA-
- Thanks for serving our country. That makes you braver than most.
- I am an Oncology RN, I have seen the good the bad and the ugly as far as the big “C” goes. Good luck with your health.
- I logged on to this thread after the log was gone so I have some basic questions:
-Is your TBT as low in volume as Waterbury suggests?- How do you set up a training week during a cut if you know you’ll have access to food and a gym that week?
-Would you train on a split if you had more time?
-How long did it take you to go from “hey that guy looks like he might work out” to “Fuck. Look at that genetic freak in the squat rack, I wonder how much test he does…” ( I feel like I have been stuck at the first one for a while and am trying to make the leap to the second one.

Thanks for the kind words brother!
Um yeah usually with my max effort stuff I end up PRing on 2-3 exercises, thats why you see me wearing the same clothes and the vids get posted on the same days…It really doesn’t seem like that big of a deal for me to do this…
Complexes, well I do thee as cardio after my normal workout. They are much more challenging this way, and sice I use pretty light weight it dosen’t interfere with my lifts or my recovery.
My stance has been that way since I started bro, if anything i have brought it in so that it is less stress on my knees…I use a mixed grip on my deads and switch it every set so that i don’t get imbalanced.
good questions, thanks for asking brother
