Allergy Relief...

Ok the seasonal allergies are kicking in, I’ve heard about Quercitin and Nettle.

Anyone know of Supps. and/or nutritional advice to help deal with allergies?

Thanks

Hey Jersey! Me again.

Allergies:
Garlic caps. LOTS of them.
Neti pot for stuffy nose and sinus trouble.
Take Colostrum according to directions on the package. When you’re feeling sick, double the dosage.
Hyland’s Homeopathics makes an Allergy formula (and a teething formula, for those w/ small children).
A spoonful each day of raw, local honey will keep environmental allergens at bay.

It also depends on what you’re allergic to. Is it local pollen? Mold/mildew? Foods?

Hope that helps! Feel better!

I have year round allergy symptoms - never got round to pin pointing the cause, tried all the herbal stuff without much success now been taking a mild steroid spray think it’s called Nasonex, works a treat. & No far too mild a steroid to assist in any muscular development - i’m all natural

I never had allergies before this year…but this year, they’re kicking in full force.

For the first week, I ignored it thinking I probably just had a cold or something. Then, my throat started closing up and I was having trouble breathing. I then thought I have to get to the doctor’s. Well, it turns out I just have allergies and the throat thing was from drainage.

So, they prescribed Allegra for me. It was once a day and it worked like a champ! Then it ran out because I kept procrastinating about getting a refill. I just stopped taking it and within a weeks time, all my symptoms were back.

Now I’m taking Drixoral, which is an OTC cold and allergy medicine. It seems to work fine and the pseudoephedrine in it makes me feel good at work

Mine are seasonal spring and summer. When they initially kicked in earlier this year they were pretty bad. I had that lethargic sick feeling.

Like deapee said one allergy tab and it takes care of me. I went to the doc and the prescription allergy meds were like $50 or $60 bucks. I buy the OTC generic brands for like $5 or $6 bucks and they work just as good.

You can buy the generic Benadryl variety and use them as a sleep aid as well. Sometimes if I am having a tough time sleeping, I will take one of those at bed time. It helps me fall asleep and takes care of my allergy symptoms the next day all day.

They started when I was 27 I am now 31. Starts at the end of May gets bad in June then disappears (so far) at the end of June. Usually outdoors, if I am inside in the AC I am golden.

Ok, so definitely environmental. For my kids, I have to do herbal. I need to be extremely particular about what they ingest that’s not natural. Their allergies are to foods, environmental, and artificial flavorings, dyes, and preservatives. That’s a fun shopping trip! :stuck_out_tongue:

If all else fails, go with claritin or whatever it takes to feel better and not drowsy.

but definitely invest in a neti pot!

I wanted to reiterate that the raw local honey will help, too. I really believe that would be your best bet. Make sure it’s raw local, though! The other stuff is no better than candy.
