All Fat Intake is From These Foods

My fat take comes from these foods, Natural Peanut butter, Olive Oil, milled Flax, and real butter. I also get more saturated fats from red meat. I tend to go heavy on the PB.

I’m broke, I’m in college, yadda yadda pitty party for me, I can’t afford the cost of Flameout or the 10 bottles of regular fish oil a month I’d need for it to matter.

Am I severly cheating myself by keeping this out of my diet. I do not see a time in the near future where fish oil could be possible.

Facts? opinions?

How about just using 1 bottle of regular fish oil a month?

Don’t sweat it otherwise, you’ll live.

well,

If you were a normal joe then I would say taking any amount of the suppliment is a good thing, if only because it mentally conditions you to think of your bodies health several times a day.

However if you are implementing serious diet and exercise routines then there is no point in taking a token amount - it just wont add up to any significant result.

Im taking about 20g a day and with it I notice no more creaky knees and faster fat loss than in my non supplimented days.
Im pretty hard core with my training so I notice the anti inflamatory results.

my girlfriend is doesnt exercise or eat well. she takes 4 spread through the day and she swears it has cleared up her skin.

Because she does nothing else for her health just 4 a day seems to have a dramatic effect. If I took 4 a day I wouldnt notice anything.

so long story short I presume you are a serious trainer, if so take alot or none.

If you are trying to cut, id take fish oil over anything else.

bulking - there are cheaper supps out there that will have more bang for your buck in terms of gains. creatine is the 1st that pops into mind

You’ll live so don’t worry about it. Just make sure to keep junk food to a minimum, eat plenty of vegetables and drink water to kick out any of the garbage that causes inflammation in the first place.

I disagree, some is better than none at all

fyi
Costco - $8.99
400 caps
300mg combined EPA/DHA per cap

Agree. The all or nothing approach is the dumbest thing ever created.

Add in some generic fish oil. Getting some Omega-3s is better than none.

Oh, and you have to be careful about over consuming fish oil, eisacenoides created from Omega-3 fatty acids lower inflammation and thin the blood. This is highly beneficial to a degree. Over supplementing fish oil, especially if your diet contains a lot of cold water fish already, can be dangerous. Think Eskimos dieing of hemorrhagic stroke(bleeding in the brain, essentially a lieson in the brain cannot clot, blood is thinned due to Omega-3 intake.

With that said, I don’t think 20g a day is anything to be worried about. And fish oil is amazing.

all or nothing is dumb?

well read his post - hes on a budget, so quite clearly his money could be better put to use on actual food or cheaper, harder hitting supplements.

So it stands to reason that instead of spreading his resources trying to inadequately cover all the bases, he should look at his target, and make sure he takes the recommended levels of the most effective substance.

I.e dont go to boots and buy a generic fish oil sup and then take 1-2 tabs per day, go to a bulk powder distributor with quality assurance and buy a bag of creatine (if bulking)
