Nothing says you got to go down. In fact, you could try to go up and get stronger. In any event, here is a good link to making weight. I cut 8-10 lbs. in 4 days for my first meet by manipulating water weight without a loss of strength.

Yeah, but remember, 8-10 lbs is nothing for someone who is over 180 lbs…but for a 138 lb female who is already pretty lean, 6 lbs will be much more difficult.
Like I said in my PM (heh heh…PMPM…heh heh), just tighten the diet up, and if you make weight, you make weight. I would NOT suggest anyone cut for a first meet. The only reason I ever cut for meets is because I HAVE to be in that weight class, either for team stuff or to qualify for other meets.
You’re going to rock the cat box!

Yeah, that’s the plan. I’m going to drink more water (I have a habit of not doing that!), keep up ordinary good habits, and if that isn’t enough, I’ll just live with it and compete in the higher class. Not a tragedy.
Also, I love the cats.

Yeah, yeah, I know, but I didn’t put it in the calculator until after dinner and found out belatedly that today was not great.

hypers with plate behind head: 3x12@25
So this means I’m back to my pre-break PR’s and ready to set some new ones.
Incidentally, you know what I hate about weekends? You can’t get breakfast on campus. You can buy a little granola, but that’s it; no eggs.
Dammit we don’t all sleep till noon!
I’m going to have to go the less-fun route of protein powder for breakfast from now on. Feh.

don’t know why I was so goddamn hungry.
All of this meet talk is just so. exciting.
The cold makes me hungrier, maybe you too?
To be honest I think it’s from not eating much yesterday. I can’t really keep food that low anymore.

how do you get your protein, and stay at such low carbs?
your vegetarian, no?
Not anymore!
There was no way in hell to do it vegetarian. Now I’m a meat-and-veggies person.
Werd. I went through a vegan phase, back when I was a misguided jogger. I then started lifting and slowly transitioned into vegetarianism via whey protein and cottage cheese. After I had an egg, I thought, what the hell, might as well eat the chicken too. There was no way I would be able to sustain strength gains and build the physique I wanted without the quality protein meat provides. There are people who swear you can do it vegetarian, but I don’t believe a word of that hype. I’m glad you made the decision to join us on the omnivorous side!
“After I had an egg, I thought, what the hell, might as well eat the chicken too.” That’s the spirit! I love meat so I can’t contest.
complex today:
5x10 of
powerclean, push press, back squat, lunge
@65 lbs,
one minute rest between sets.
In case you’re wondering, THIS IS TIRING.
nice complex alisa! those are killer.
glad to read ur doing the meet. yay!
Yeah… now I feel like a goofball because my friend (who’s very strong) says he’s not ready to compete. If he’s not ready, what does that make me?
But I just have the personality type to jump into things – I’m an impatient SOB.
Down to 136.4. This is definitely doable.
I am the opposite and think into things too much…
so does this mean you are definitely doing the comp in Feb?
I’d love an excuse to meet a fellow t-nationer! ![]()
Yep –
but seriously, that’s a hell of a long drive. I’d feel bad if you had to make a big production.
