Alisa's Training Log

Also – Low Bar Squat Guy was an older gent who used to be a powerlifter, and he was impressed and said I was squatting good and low.
I guess it’s being a showoff to mention it, but it made my day.

Not showoffy. It just validates your good decision to backtrack on weight for awhile and work on form. Good squats!

nice squat PR and great cleans!

where do you place the bar now?? high bar or somewhere in between?

Saw someone doing a cool thing with a dumbbell: he squats down, grabs it, and hoists it over his head while standing up. I’ll have to try that sometime.

sounds similar to a dumbbell snatch. those are awesome for explosiveness. =+)

I think high bar; it sits on top of my shoulders, right between my neck and the bone. It feels more natural; if it sits below my shoulders I feel like it’s going to fall off my back (at least right now.)

Fun with football equipment! (alternative cardio.)

Sprints: two widths of the football field, knocking down a tackling dummy at each turn. 6x, 30 s sprint, 30 s rest.

Dragged tackling dummies the length of the football field. 2x, 2:30 and 2:37.
According to the internet these weigh 90 or 96 lbs.

kick ass!

RAWR!!!

now THAT is some good stuff.

jealous…

If anyone was watching this, they’d think you were superwoman.

why thankya.

Early carb-up… carrot cake and a biscuit.
Carrot cake >> chocolate cake.

Mmmmm. Cake.

mmmm indeed.
Feeling under the weather today; sore throat & so sleepy.
squats: 5@45, 5@85, 5@95, 5@115, 5@135, 3@145
seated bb overhead press: 5@45, 5@55, 5@65, 5@75, 1@85

the heavier I go the more I arch my back, which hurts and makes me uneasy about safety; I could in principle have lifted more and maybe I will next time.
deadlift: 5@65, 5@85, 5@105, 5@135, 5@155, 5@165, 5@175 (PR!)

A PR when you’re under the weather is not to be sniffed at. Now make sure you take care of yourself and let yourself recover.

nice pr. get lots of sleep and food. =+)

get well!

Wow. That’s some heavy lifting with a virus raging on. I hope you feel better soon!
