I’m on a historical Greco-Roman movie kick. I watched Spartacus, Gladiator, Ben Hur, Troy… What else should I watch? I’ve been thinking of Alexander, but everything I’ve heard, was that it is the most god-awful ball-blowing suck-fest that has ever been put into film…Would you agree with this assessment does Alexander suck that bad, its not even worth watching?
Either watch the movie or don’t. You sat through Troy, but you’re terrified of wasting a couple of hours of your life on Alexander?

Try “I, CLaudius” or the “Rome” series from HBO.
Pretty bad, yeah. Not like “Babe 2: Pig in the City” bad, but hovering around “Air Bud 2” bad.
Alexander’s depictions of the battles were pretty accurate, and Rosario Dawson’s tits were nice. You can’t say the same for Air Bud 2.

The battles scenes in Alexander are awesome, the other 2 hrs and 45 minutes are terrible.
Alexander wasn’t too bad and troy was watchable imo.
Kingdom of heaven is a decent watch, every movie these days is going to be way off the mark in terms of historical accuracy but they are still decent enough to watch.
Apart from Ned Kelly with Heather Leger one of the worst movies I have ever seen

Rosario Dawson’s tits almost trump the badness of the movie and they certainly trump the Air Bud movies.
I didn’t mind Alexander. Its pretty long though.
IMO Alexander had some pretty good battle scenes, but as a movie in general, (excuse the pun) it sucked big time.
Get the Rome HBO box sets rather. Way, way, better. Great story line, decent acting, good action and some hot sex scenes

“I, Claudius” takes me back. I watched this entire series when I was in junior high and it’s what got me interested in history. I loved it. Yes I was/am a geek. Don’t watch it for big battle scenes. It’s produced by the bbc so keep that in mind. It was great for the byzantine politics of the era. Then you can watch ‘Caligula’.
