Alcohol and T levels

I know that alcohol lowers T levels. But can
anyone tell me what the mechanism by which
this occurs? Or how it might be countered?
For example, if someone is using HCG, will
alcohol still lower T levels, or won’t it
matter in that case? Thanks for any help.

Alcohol inhibits T production directly, in Leydig cells. It is all dose related, but if you use HCG to recover from a cycle, the last thing you need is alcohol. Alcohol makes you hornier (sp?)because it increases LH levels as a result of lower leydig cell production.

Thanks for the reply. No I’m not using HCG
to recover from a cycle, I’m planning on using
it instead of T replacement. (Keeps the nads
working.) I thought that if someone is using
HCG, they might be able to get away with some
alcohol without it effecting T levels. I
thought alchohol lowered T levels by reducing
LH and increasing FSH (effect on hypothalmus).
That sucks that it directly effects leydig
cells. Any info on exactly HOW alcohol effects
the leydig cells? There has got to be some way
to offset this effect. It pisses me off that
women can drink and not have it screw up their
hormones (much) but if I drink my hormone
levels get smashed. Aaargh.

Basically, what you’re asking is which is “stronger”,alcohol or HCG? Of course you could get away with more alcohol while you’re on HCG, but I strongly advise against using HCG as a form of t replacement. HCG could screw you up even more than exogenous t itself, so if you want testosterone replacement consider enanthate or something of that nature. Don’t think HCG cannot lower your t production, and if it does, you will be left empty handed-with nothing to spark the production again. I think a certain forum contributor named Sasa Aksentijevic could give you even more info on that matter.Sasa?

I really hate to take the job from Spongebob when it comes to answering tricky questions but it seems that he has limited his are of expertise to SAOD part of the site. This is pretty much equal explanation to the one about using HCG post cycle to give gonads the kick insted of using Clomid throughout and after the cycle… HCG will mimic “normal state of affairs”… but supression will still exist.
I suggest that our friend utilizes search engine and studies relevant findings thoroughly. Anyway, I do not think we should address alcohol issues here anyway, alcohol has absolutely nothing to do with this lifestyle… IMHO, of course.
