It’s pretty funny cause I was talking with my property manager the other day and was telling her about my lost bag which I thought was stolen.
She responded with “Oh yeah my sister used to do that. She was a meth head and would steal bags all the time and sell the stuff for meth. She’s not a meth head anymore though.”
WTF?!? So it really is a common thing.

Yup, this meth thing is totally out of control…
Hey gregron, that sucks about the luggage. A training question, were you always lean with visible abs? You said you had abs at 220 so I’m guessing that was the same from 175 and up? I’m 180 and want to be about your size someday but dont have abs. Sorry for the newbie question ![]()

Hey Law,
I’ve always been able to see my abs. Not shredded 8 pack abs but not a large layer of fat covering them either.
I never did a large all out bulking phase where I allowed myself to get soft. I’ve just been taking the “tortoise” approach, slow and steady. I was also always in a job where physical fitness was part of the requirements so my conditioning had to stay at a certain level. I definitely attribute my level of leanness in part to that.
The thing is, that while always maintaining roughly the same BF level, my abs were definitely more pronounced when I reached the 190+ BW. I don’t know why, maybe it was due to them thickening up over the years but at or around 190+ is when they seemed to pop.
Do you do a lot of ab work?
My advice is to just take things slowly. If you’re in it for the long haul then there shouldn’t be a rush to get huge or get shredded. Slowly building muscle and slowly losing fat are the best ways of doing things IMO.
Abs are great and all but they aren’t everything. IMO, and are the finishing touch on a physique. It’s like restoring a car. You put in all the time and work to find all the parts, assemble them, sand everything down smooth and prime the car. At this point you have a pretty sweet looking ride already but putting that new glossy paint job on there just completes the look. You have to build, sand and prime that 1971 Chevelle SS before you can’t paint her.

Thanks for taking the time to post a great reply. I should be already a lot further along now than I am now tbh. I went from 170 to 215 last year and ended up looking like shit. This coincided with my college finals so I just quit going to the gym and cardio’d down to a 170 skinny fat. I’m back in the gym trying to go at things with more of a measured approach now
Sorry for the thread hijack btw.

No problem man, I’m all about helping out and sharing my experiences. I definitely don’t have all the answers but ill share what I know or what I did.
Sorry to hear about that failed bulk but now that you’ve got that experience under your belt you should know your body a little bit better. You have to learn from you’re experiences and now you kinda know what not to do.
It really is all about consistency. I know our culture is all about instant gratification but you just have to try to be realistic and keep things in perspective.
worst advice i ever heard.
Law. best thing is try to get a 6-pack specialist’s or a good plastic surgeon’s advice… not a guy that put up 10000+ posts… all making no sense…
maybe thats why flag football is his choice of sport…
all the best
