Advice Planning First Real Cycle

A few details about myself first.

Gender: male

Age: 31

Weight: 180 lbs

Height: 6’0

1RM Bench:275

1RM Squat: 350

1 RM Deadlift: 405

All of this achieved naturally. I first started lifting when I was 25 and have 6 solid years of training experience. My goal is to improve athletic performance, specifically in regards to strength. A little hypertrophy is fine but the only thing that really matters is getting those numbers up.

Here is what I’m thinking of for a first cycle

400MG Equipose once a week and 50 mg of anavar every day for 6 weeks

I’m avoiding testosterone because unfortunately I’m prone to male pattern baldness. I don’t use finasteride but I do use minoxidil and a ketoconazole shampoo.

For PCT do you guys think 100 mg of clomid would be sufficient? I know HCG is a good drug but I don’t really have a reliable source at this moment sadly.

Thing is I want to get into powerlifting but I don’t want to gain an insane amount of weight since I want to remain in a less competitive weight division.

Yes, you need to establish a solid base first whether you want to PL or not. By base I mean learn how to eat, how to train and some actual mass to work with.

Your cycle is bad and you need a lot more research.

When you’ve done a few comp’s and your numbers are higher then think about running in a cycle

As overly rated and common as this may sound, I am going to recommend that you find Ryan Hughes Bulking and Cutting Diets off bodybuilding.com. He is very lean, natural, and knows what he is talking about. Do not listen to the other two bozos on the same site to the left of ryan hughes. Implement a training routine similar, but involve heavy loads a little more often. Try to bench 300, squat 400, deadlift 500 before steroids.

If you increase your bodyweight more you should be able to probably hit 315, 425, and 525ish. While your cycle doesn’t really look good, I am not going to bash you on your progress. 1.5x a bench, almost 2x squat, and just over 2x bodyweight deadlift are not bad lifts. It is clear that you have put in some serious effort and I commend you for that. But as these men said, at 6 foot, you need more mass regardless what direction you want to take. Anyone else at 180 will have a huge advantage given your height.

I just got the feeling I have plateaued but you’re right, I would be able to make gains if I gained a little more weight and I know a little hypertrophy wouldn’t be catastrophic. I have long appendages thus long movement arm levers so that puts me at a mechanical disadvantage over shorter powerlifters so it’s really tempting to push for that extra edge…but all in good time.

I know the cycle is a little shitty but I really am afraid about using testosterone or a stronger oral like Dianabol because I would look like a cancer patient with no hair. I know I could counter this with finasteride but I have heard lots of stories about people’s dicks being permanently fucked as result. Anavar and Equipoise I heard are the safest steroids for hair.

Seriously, the vast majority of people can run a low dose test cycle without hair loss. MPB runs like a BITCH in my family and I was fine.

safe - yes, ideal - not really.

Lots of people cycle without hCG and have no problems. It just makes recovery easier, but that’s not to say that you NEED it. It’s personal preference really.

it’s VERY unlikely you’ll have to worry about that from a low dose test only cycle, with out without hCG.

That’s good to know. I was actually thinking about just skipping out on the Methly and running either a test only cycle at 400 mg/week or a test/anavar cycle with the same dosage of testosterone plus 50 mg of anavar.
