Advice on Squat Progression

So this Tuesday I back squatted, just below parallel, 315lbs for 12 reps. My question to all you is whether I should shoot for more reps next week, say 15? Or should I add 20lbs and go for as many as possible?

I’m 5’10 weigh 171 pounds and have been training for 2 1/2 years.

Also I’m probably going to record it next Tuesday and throw it up on youtube.

I’m kind of leaning towards going for more reps because I think it would be really impressive to eventually squat 315 for 20 reps at a weight of 170-175 with only training for as long as I have.

Didn’t you basically ask this in another forum?

Forbes, it has come to the point where people just want to strike up conversation.

How is someone supposed to answer this?

Sorry guys, didn’t realized it was posted twice. I was never given any confirmation. Thanks anyway.

Depends on your goals. Personally I would throw on more weight.

+1

Personally I have had more success with putting more weight than getting the rep up. trying to get more and more rep at 10+ is hazardous in term of progression for me

How hard were the 12 reps?

I would add 10 lbs and go back to 315 for 20 reps later.
But that’s me, I haven’t done 315 in years. I’m back down to 225 now.
