Advice for Tight Lats?

Hey guys
I just want to ask you for some advice, i have pretty tight lats, so my shoulder mobility is quite a limited, therefore i can not do for example military press or any over head presses.

Can you suggest me something to do to loosen up my latissimus dorsi muscle`s

Thank you in advance

foam roll it, i use a pvc pipe and just roll my back on it works wonders, try following that with the platter serve, a mobility drill , steve cotter has a pretty good video of it on youtube, pretend like you have a cup of tea on a saucer and twirl under your should and above your head, its hard to describe but look up that video

Foam rolling, deep tissue massage, ART thearpy.
Search for a chiro in your area as well. When you find the right one it’s a blessing.

Another vote for foam rolling. Try stretching it too. Hang from a pull-up bar (with straps) for 60-90s. It should be painful, but it feels awesome too.

Any other symptoms with your torso/shoulder area?

Mmmm… i don`t know… do you know any mobility/stability test so i can check.
Or if needed i can record a video/take a picture of myself doing it

Well that’s not necessary, but do you have rounded shoulders? Tight pecs? Head forward posture? Shoulder pain, etc etc? Usually there is more than one thing going on than just ‘tight lats’.

Something like this for rounded shoulders… i.e. kypohsis.

Where in your chest is the pain, sternum area?

Here is the pain

Like I guessed, sternum area… Honestly I don’t know what to tell you. There could be a way to alleviate the pain but I don’t THAT much. Some people just aren’t made for dips.

about an year or two ago i was able to do dips, and then somehow i injured myseft, asked some doctors from my hometown and random people who told me that they have had similar pain and i just needed a rest…
Thank you very much though

Now im foamrolling my body almost every day, doing some stretching for the lats which i found on the net, and am hanging from the pull bar :) Thank you guys ill write after some time if there is an effect
