To start off, I train in no particular discipline for any particular outcome other than size and strength (mostly stregth), so I don’t know if this is the proper forum for my question. My 3x a week fullbody routine has morphed into a 4 day body parts split, which has molded into some abomination of a routine based on things I feel work for me.
I’m looking to add Jerks into my routine but am not sure where to add them. I snatch before I squat on tuesday and clean on friday. Where do you think I could add them in without taking away from the Jerk itself or the other primary lifts?
/ = -or-
Monday: Bench 5/3/1, Inc. DB/Inc. BB/Dip/whatever 3-4 sets, lying DB exts 4-5 sets, BB curl 4-5 sets, plate/BB raise 2-4 sets.
Tuesday: Snatch 5/3/1, Squat 5/3/1, RDL 5-8 sets, Lunge/Step up/Split squat/whatever 3-6 sets, calves.
Thursday: Military 5/3/1, CG Flat/CG Inc, DB Front Raise 4-5 sets, Skull Crusher 4-5 sets, Laterals 3 sets, Rev PecDec/Bent over lateral/whatever 3 sets, some tricep thing for whatever (I’m getting frustrated looking for a tri movement I like outside exts.)
Friday: Chins for however many, Clean 5/3/1, T-Bar/BB/DB row 5-8 sets, BB shrug for 6-10 sets, J-Pulls lately (if aything) for 3-4 sets.
I was thinking Monday after bench but I’m afraid this would take away from the jerk itself, and before would interfere with my bench which is priority. Tuesday after snatches/before squats, but I’m afraid this will take away from my squat. Thursday after Military but this may be too much work and I don’t want to take away from my assistance work to help my shoulders and tris grow.
Maybe Friday ater cleans but maybe this would interfere with my shoulder/tri recovery? I think Friday may be the ticket because I rest until Monday after that, but any input on adjustments would be appreciated…
