Adding Some Ab Exercises

well I am currently doing rippettoes starting strengh with 5x5

of the major lifts

I do two workouts and switch off

workout A:

back squats 5x5

bench press 5x5

deadlifts 5x5

Dips 2x8 (should Io be doing more of these??)

workout b:

back squats 5x5

military press 5x5

power cleans 5x5

pulls 2x8 (should I do more of these?)

And thats my workout I also added barbell curls for the biceps and I do them after both days usually

But I wanted to finally add ab workouts cause I havent done them in a long time… I see a small set of six packs coming through but there just not there yet…

so I started doing 2x8 of reverse crunches but apparently that doesnt even make my abs flinch (m aybe I should do more than just 2x8…)

I need good ab exersises if anyone has some and I need to know where I should fit them in

thanks

Starting Strength is 3x5, not 5x5 and 1x5 for deadlifts. You will make better progress if you stick to the program.

I do agree with ab exercises after the main workout. I like decline sit ups and russian twists, also hanging leg raises with the knees coming to your elbows. Dragon flags are also good. 404 | Dragon Door

The hanging leg raises are a killer. Put a 25# dumbbell on the ground and pick it up with your feet.

thanks!
@stu
I was told to do 5x5 because 3x5 would be too easy for me being I have been working oout for over a year now…
the 5x5 seems ok though…

If 3x5 is too easy but the weight up. If you want a 5x5 program, look at the Bill Starr variations. Madcow’s is very good. Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos
